Oh I know you mean it, you’re stupid as s*** I’m not surprised!

Can you demonstrate to me how someone that is transphobic is going to be brought towards trans rights acceptance if the only argument they are presented with is "trans women are women"?

theres been entire books written on this subject

as much as twitter heads like to think otherwise, these types of convos can’t be simply reduced to sloganeering, even if i agree with them, the foundations have to be explained

its like leaving the conversation on gay/bi/pan, etc. ppl to simply being “born this way”

right i agree with all these ppl but idk how i'm being painted as transphobic somehow

Ok so I think it’s really gross to do this in general as “exposing” someone’s sexual history is nobodies business and doing this for clout is so grimy.
But I have to mention, you’re not being outed it you’re a straight man who had relations with a trans woman… she’s a woman. You’re still straight. Thinking otherwise is transphobic and just as ugly.

I’m more than aware of the trans life expectancy, and the dangers of being trans or gay; as I’m a member of the community.
Trans individuals are more likely to face direct violence from the general public.
I am in no way not acknowledging the violence that is hurled towards my own community. What I am saying is this dialogue that he’s meant to feel ashamed for being with a trans woman is ugly; and fuels the continuation of violence & hate speech directly

There's a difference between personal shame and external/societal shame, I don't think the difference is fair to brush off. While of course there are people who seek out sexual encounters despite shame, which you may say on your end is rooted in transphobia, I don't understand individualizing that. In gay communities, which is not the same ofc but parallel, there are men who are deeply closeted because they were raised in ways to believe their behavior is shameful - and while they still have sexual encounters with other men, they feel shame because something was projected onto them, not necessarily that they originated the feeling. While I know this is a touchy subject, I don't really think it's fair to equate external shame to someone's personal shame unless said person has a literal history of public transphobia or otherwise. It is simply true that there is a massive swathe of people who judge people for having relationships with trans individuals. While I understand the distaste at this, I mean look how much s*** happened as a result of this just literally in the immediacy. Videos from people like AK clowning him, even his current gf acting like this is some insane whimsical hitjob on him rather than something real. Can you blame someone for not wanting to deal with this because they want to separate their personal life from their public presence? People are scared of public humiliation/ridicule regardless of how they personally feel, esp as semi-public figures, I don't understand the idea that they're obligated to disclose these things.

Nobody will ever tell you specifically what you're saying or doing is transphobic. Rather when they do it will be something so broad, that will just make you not want to engage with their entire community at all. Yall alienate more people than you bring to your side.

what is your question because you haven’t asked one

I'm telling you that repeating the slogan of "trans women are women!" and calling things transphobic without actually explaining why is dumb twitter s***. If you want to change minds, you need to explain the foundation of the position.

    This, I can work with.
Transphobia is rooted in hate & ignorance of gender identification.
    Sex/Gender are not the same.
Transphobic individuals believe that there is a gender binary that aligns with an assigned s***at birth. This, is not factual in any capacity.
Gender identity is complex, it is separate from s***& so is sexual identity.
If someone refuses to acknowledge this, it is transphobic/homophobic & honestly just ignorant. You can have conversations (like I’m attempting to do with you) but if you refuse to acknowledge reality, then you’re just ugly and delusional babes

Why is it on trans people to make their case and prove themselves or else their argument is worthless and they deserve ridicule? People should have empathy and understanding for others, trans people constantly have to make a case for themselves because people are not interested in being divorced from their own biases and ignorance. Why the f*** do they need to give you an entire breakdown on it, s*** is basic understanding of s***and gender

But that’s the thing he wasn’t obligated to disclose this

Someone else made that choice for him

We’re on the same page I think you misunderstood me & this dialogue we’re having is a nonissue

you can support the community and still have viewpoints and hot takes that aren’t it. Ally-ship doesn’t mean you’re invincible or incapable of not understanding something that our community members face directly.

I never said that trans people HAVE to do anything. I'm not trans, I've spent countless hours arguing for trans people on this site. All I said was that you do not convince people with slogans.

People SHOULD have empathy. People SHOULD do this, that, and the other. They don't. I'm not satisfied by just shrugging my shoulders and believing people who are transphobic, homophobic, etc. are lost causes. If you want to reach these people, you absolutely NEED to explain the foundations of your position.

I don't know who any of these people are.

RIP to Housephone's mom. Adam is a useless cac. Housephone needs to live his truth proudly. Transwomen who out men they been with are extremely weird and I feel like that brings more harm to transfolk because in a way they are accepting that if a person engages with transfolk sexually then something is wrong with that person. S*** just brings more potential harm to transfolk.

All in all everyone, besides the mom, in this situation sucks ass.

because we don't live in a fair utopian society like there literally had to be CENTURIES of discussion and decades of violence and riots before people even accepted people of the same gender having s***shouldn't be illegal and even now it's punishable in like over half the world, some places by death rights of transgender people has a fractional history compared to that, ofc that s*** isnt universally accepted yet to where we can just be like "well its morally correct so why do we have to explain it" this s*** barely applies to LITERAL RACE. like the civil rights act was 59 YEARS AGO. ofc this is going to apply to other social categories as well

@blonded isn't trying to invalidate your position, he's extrapolating the unfortunate reality that we live in a world where things that are moral are not universally understood or recognized and there's unfortunate consequences of that socially
