The difference is Tyler got big and accepted and got off being homophobic for half a decade before he came out and Lil Nas X actually stood on his own two out the gate.

    Literally the only difference.

Yeah If T would’ve came out on some gay s*** back in 2011 idk if he would’ve been accepted. By the time he really started being more upfront about his sexuality he was like what 4-5 albums in? and he already had his core following.

LNX came out around the time of his debut EP and he was still seen as one hit wonder

  • Sep 29, 2021

Why would somebody who isnt a rapper want to be respected in hip hop

Show me Hip Hop respecting gay people before.

Hip hop never has, they have always slandered gay people. So I don't see why lil nas x is surprised.

ok but seriously, he kinda does have a point. Gay people are not respected the same as straight people pretty much everywhere, especially in rap. People looove to say "I have no problem w gay ppl I just can't stand when they make their whole personality abt being gay and shove it in my face." Ok but you have zero issue w ur bro joking abt clapping cheeks or listening to music that constantly talks abt f***ing b****es. Makes me wonder, is it actually an issue w sexual s***, or is it an issue w specifically gay sexual s***? lot of ppl itt saying s*** along the lines of "maybe if he wasn't so overtly gay it wouldn't bother ppl", implying he is somehow "too gay". Let me ask you, how can someone be too gay?

ask yourself this: "Am I really accepting of gay people, or do I just tolerate them being around?"

    Also

I understand homophobia is just backed into black culture. When my friends are homophobic I don't hate them for it or lecture them on it, I understand that some people have a very skewed understanding of the world through no fault of their own. There is a time and place to address it and its not in the middle of a kickback lol. noboby is a bad person or deserving of hate because of a worldview they were born and raised into, but they still deserve to be educated on the issue.

Why do you allow your friends to be homophobic? Call that s*** out

What antics does Future pull outside of the memes social media creates based off of his music?

Antics that get dissed would be Tekashi (even before snitching) Tyler, Game even Young Thug (outside his base, mid 2010s he was considered a huge weirdo n not much people f***ing with him) etc.

"social media creates" like he didn't sell "she belongs to the streets" shirts lol.

Tekashi was deemed the "king of NY" in spite of that s***. The antics were part of what made him hot you must've not been around during his prime lol.

I mean it aint like they don't got a point.

Hip Hop definitely does give passes to culturally appropriating white girls.

bc white girls are a commodity in rap. im gonna sound crazy here but like metaphysically speaking, white girls aren't real people, at least not in hip-hop and honestly a lot of black culture and honestly American male culture at large. And not just white girls either, pretty much all girls (but in rap it is especially true w white girls). In this worldview, women aren't equals, or real ppl, they are p****, they are good for s***and nothing else, they will hurt u and take ur money so u should just f*** and leave. Having a white girl, or exotic girl, or lesbian is a flex in the uber-consumerist culture of rap. Women are a commodity, and white women are/were perceived as the "better quality" women. White girls are to Chief Keef what a Pomeranian might be to some rich white lady. Giving white b****es the pass is like feeding ur dog table scraps. U know u shouldn't do it but its basically harmless (or at least thats how u see it). in the words of lucki, treat her like a dog or a sports car

and the white girls are usually totally cool w it bc they like the attention and will play along w it. not always, but its a pretty common sight.

The issue with giving white b****es the pass is rooted more in how the modern male, specifically black male in this case, understands women, specifically white women.

most importantly it has nothing to do w gay ppl and homophobia so there's rlly no reason for the article to bring that up anyway

people will make fun of s***... its banter. and if its not banter then why do you even care?.

why you gotta start acting so defensive about something in specific?, youre the one makin a difference. unless theyre going over boundaries it shouldnt become such an issue.

acting like this is homophobia is ridiculing true homophobia: people who are discriminated in job opportunities, people who are attacked physically because of their sexuality, etc. not some rich guy complaining he gets mean tweets because hes the only one allowed to have an IN YOUR FACE attitude.

Bro what LMAO. Im the one getting defensive? Why do i care if its real? This is literally the topic LMAO?

I never daid Nas X isnt ridiculed due to homophobia by people, that yall claim his antics are only ridiculed only cuz hes gay while others get "passes"

I said OTHERS HAVE BEEN ridiculed

No its not just "banter". Niggas still think tyler is a weirdo to this day. Game n Meek have destroyed their rep by being stupid.

Stop acting like other Rappers have never been affected. Thats all my post is, because now youre guys arguments have gone into syraight lies.

You don’t have to agree with everything someone else thinks

Why is that so hard to understand

Obviously some people are not trying to ever see gay s*** nor hear it in a song

Most of us grew up using slurs as jokes and substitutes for stupid, dumb, or weird . This was less than 10 years ago.

It was a different time back then. And it’s completely changed now. You’re mentally ill to think that just because people want things their way it’ll happen.

There will always be ignorance. You can’t control the world.

Whenever unnatural force tries to take control it’s always met with resistance.

Read this post thoroughly. Don’t quote saying it’s homophobia. It’s reality.

Tekashi and Young Thug were both popular as hell lmao only old heads weren’t f***in with Thug and Tekashi for obvious reasons.

Danny Glover, Lifestyle, Stoner were some of the biggest singles when they came out and he was all over everybody’s songs 2015 and 2016.
Tekashi was a convicted pedophile and it took him snitching for people to turn their back on him lol

She belong to the streets was literally created DUE to social media n playing off iy lol and its also a song lyrics, lyric merch is sold all the time. Also there are women that hate that s***.

You dont think a similar nas x merch would ring off in sales even if straight niggas hate it? You buggin lmao.

King of Ny was literally a forced title by him himself which was a troll. You dont rememeber New York, Chi n Cali trying to find over his bullshit n most people calling him out like hot97 n breakfast club? You dont rememeber the ogs n peers getting all mad? You dont remember his beefs with other ny rappers? Or how people outside of his ig comments were calling for his cancelation?

Foh lmao yall are cherry picking n memory holeing like a motherfucker 💀

Yeah I’d expect myself to treat the thing that gave me success at least some sense of respect also making a fool out of myself for money then suddenly expecting respect for my craft when I myself don’t respect my craft is stupid
