Sep 29, 2021it probably is homophobia that's forcing him to exist adjacent to the hip-hop community rather than be a part of it. i can buy that certain rappers don't wanna work with him because they just don't respect him, but the vast majority of them aren't exactly principled about who they work with lol. let's not forget 6ix9ine got features from thug, baby, gunna, nicki, a boogie, tory, and offset when it was well known that he was a clout vulture who only cared about getting IG interactions, and he probably could've gotten a lot more to do songs with him.
i don't think he should force it though, there's no point in forcing certain rappers to stand with someone they don't f*** with, no matter how shoddy and hypocritical their reasoning is. he's found a lot of success in the pop lane and a huge die hard audience who are tuned in constantly to see what he's gonna do next, he doesn't need validation from the hip-hop community at this point.
