It wasn't really criticisms though. It was just the "mumble rap" s***. I still remember how Ebro s***ted on Uzi when he came on his radio show
All I remember from that is Uzi saying “don’t play no old ass beats because I’m a rockstar” or some dumbass s*** like that

Nah every body clowned the Budden / Yachty interaction but some of it seemed like it was coming from a genuine place.
Ebro was wylin tho for sure his Carti interview was awful lmso

Exactly that lol he also said he’s a rockstar cuz he don’t focus on lyrics

Bruh that nigga played the f***ing Robocop beat for Uzi to freestyle on then he said he'd fall off by the age of 27

I don’t remember it being Robocop but now I’m f***in dead lmaooo
None of these guys got it
Saw this coming when he was posting s*** like this
Then lied about his age
Bro thought he was immune to aging
totally lost it in 2020 dropping like 55 songs; maybe 4 were better than okay.
zero confidence and has no idea what makes/made his music good, whoever was pulling the strings around the time of LIR1-2 (Don Cannon?) needs a lot more credit

I agree don cannon deserves WAAAAAY more credit
Breaks my heart because their my goat
But I do mostly agree with OP
The thing is though, despite this embarrassing shenanigans, Uzi always performs well
Just Wanna Rock has been the second biggest hit of their career, and that dropped last year, and Pink Tape went #1
They have a strong core following who for the most part, will always show support. Plus they have such a rich backlog of hits in their discography already
This behaviour is the biggest problem, and it started with back-tracking about Eternal Atake which I hate, since EA was a great album
Pink Tape is overhated too, it’s pretty solid, but Uzi gives skeptics a chance to knock their music & their confidence when they backtrack and say this bullshit all the time
Actually I feel like Pink Tape had mostly positive reception. It did drop off 70k from it's initial first week projections tho which means most people stopped listening to the album quickly and it did kinda come and go. I think that's why he moved on to Barter 16 quickly
Uzi and all them niggas that disrespected the older heads of the genre are lowkey panicking now that they’re not in their 20s anymore.
Nfs I think the only people from that era that didn’t do that were Carti and I think Kodak
At the risk of sounding like a complete old head, i think this is it
I still think Eternal Atake is a genuinely great album. he never should have let people convince him it wasn't
EA is a classic to me
At the risk of sounding like a complete old head, i think this is it
I’m pretty sure Uzi was up there in age when he first came out in comparison to his peers, so it was weird for him to even take that angle lol

Cannon been instrumental in Uzi’s early-career for sure
But Uzi was still dropping excellent tracks in 2020, you hating

Uzi has a good pen game, he needs to pivot to straight up spitting at this point. He’s too old to chase trends.
Give us more s*** like Sanguine Paradise and less s*** like Just Wanna Rock
Uzi one of the cringiest people alive
The nostalgia baiting with nonsense like “Finessin Hearts 2” was hard to watch
The consistent need to float snippets for feedback shows just how lost he is.
One gimmick after another.
I can’t wait til the next Carti era when y’all realize Carti is a hack like Uzi tbh calling it right now. Y’all gonna realize it was smoke and mirrors and aesthetic just like Uzi was
nah carti has always had more talent and is way more ambitious than uzi has ever been
nah carti has always had more talent and is way more ambitious than uzi has ever been
what specific talent does carti have over uzi id be really interested to know this lol
carti has better quality control & sticks to his guns, that’s done wonders for his career & perception of him even if he catches immediate flack s*** stabilizes

his flows, his sound, his vision...he's never made a bad album. i've never been an uzi fan to begin with so take this with a grain of salt

I was just about to say this, talent is a personal preference but one thing I think Carti does better than Uzi is he leads his fans instead of catering to them
People were so mad that WLR wasn’t Die Lit 2 but then turned around on it so fast
