ryuHPeople are really conservative and don’t like change at the end of the day
Even if they say they do there is always a disclaimer:
“It’s okay to be experimental as long as…”
“Nothing wrong with being creative but you still have to…”
They can’t simply embrace an artist creativity with an open mind and leave the experience with a reasonable opinion. “I liked it.” “I loved it” “I hated it” “it’s not for me”
Instead there’s always some sort of rationalization that the artist is doing something “wrong” or breaking some sacred “rule” when it takes conservative listeners outside they comfort zone.
It’s an ego thing. No one wants to admit that they are conservative so they do all that s*** to save face subconsciously
And a lot of them be blaming artists for not wanting to do different s*** when its mostly the fans. It was always like this, but nowadays I feel like artists are way too insecure to want to switch it up.
People would also blame the labels "they're not pushing it to the forefront". but last year one of the artist at the very forefront of mainstream music decided to do something different with HNVM and still got s***ted on. Only for a year later for it to be getting its proper flowers

that’s why even a very musically talented hip-hop artist typically doesn’t have a run of more than 3 great albums back to backI think Trav has already accepted the fall off and traded in musical ambition to become a commercial product. His mark on the game has already been solidified. especially after albums like Rodeo, Birds in The Trap, and Astroworld, I am honestly content with him dropping mid for the rest of his life or even retiring, he doesn’t seem like he has much to say. Just appreciate what he gave us at his peak
