Wait are we fr running with Pink Tape being a mixtape lmfao
tape is literally in the title tho? it feels like one too
No way you like EA more than this, EA was such a massive letdown
Pink Tape >> EA for sure
Bro all that s*** fake imo
People in this generation are completely incapable of appreciating s*** when it drops too busy being cynical and stroking they own egos trying to win online debates instead of actually listening to the music
Then when the dust settles and no one is debating about the album anymore THEN they go back and actually listen to it and fall in love with it like the real ones did from the beginning and when the next one drops they put the old one on a pedestal and just rinse and repeat the hate with the new one
The cynicism among critics and fans of this era is what’s killing music not the artist themselves, a lot of artist still creating interesting and entertaining experiences for us to enjoy they just go under-appreciated. It really pisses me off as a creative myself for any artist not just Uzi. Been happening so much over the last 5 years or so
preach brother
been like this for decades with movies and s*** too
EVERY single time a new product releases.. all of a sudden its the worst s*** in history and the previous project which was also panned upon release is now magically "actually good" and "ATLEast it did _ and right"
Wait are we fr running with Pink Tape being a mixtape lmfao
What does label say lol thats what matters
Nah that’s something Uzi just came up with the last couple days
ever since the start of Pink Tape he been sayinng its a mixtape it just got album level care
its even in the name
it IS an official uzi album, but it's framed and sequenced as a large mixtape
just as LIR is a mixtape but can still be seen as an album

Could be that I missed that. In the end it doesn’t really affect my enjoyment of the project anyway
I get what y’all are saying but what exactly is a mixtape nowadays anyway? I feel like unless the artist explicitly tells you I haven’t been able to tell the difference between the 2 in at least 8 years now.
Maybe not in Uzi case but that feels like such a cop out just in case the project doesn’t pop like they want it too. Young Thug himself has had like 3 albums magically turn into “mixtapes” for what ever reason

yea there is no distinction nowadays
thats why I classify em' all as projects or bodies of work.
IDC what you say SMF isn't Thug's "DEBUT" album
likewise idc what you say but LIR and More Life count as albums to me
but regardless Dedication 2 is just as much of a Wayne Project as his albums in my eyes so its all the same to me really
if an artists makes the music, puts it all together with an artwork and has their name attached to it.. its a project buddy. no matter how you slice it
How did b****fork give EA an 8.4 and this a 5.7? How is EA Damn near 30 percentage points better than this?
God those people are idiots
Fr there is no universe in which this album is worse than EA
No way you like EA more than this, EA was such a massive letdown
It’s too early to tell in fairness, I probably shouldn’t have posted that
We’ve had EA for 3 years, this for a matter of weeks.
I love EA though, it’s a great rap album - and wasn’t a disappointment to me
This is trying to do other things, i’ll type up some more thoughts later on
Fr there is no universe in which this album is worse than EA
Right and even if there was how does THAT big of a gap between the album ratings make any kind of logical sense?
I hear pitchfork scores are cumulative among the staff, if that’s the case whole staff needs to be fired and replaced
EA still doesnt get a lot of love but in context it was the peak of Uzi’s career following LiR 2, XO TOUR LIFE, New Patek, and the insane feature run he was on.
EA still isnt widely loved but it much more cohesive, focused, and fun than Pink Tape, even if it marks a point of his career riddled in insecurity and self doubt
I'll give you more focused and cohesive, but I think the variety is what makes pink tape so much more fun than EA.
Like paddy said ea is a great straight up rap album but this is so much more which I appreciate

My point is exactly that, EA is a great rap album but a really disappointing Uzi album if that makes sense
Right now in terms of studio albums:
LIR2>>Pink Tape>>>>>EA

Pitchfork been trash

I agree with both of yall
Thats a problem i had at the time of EA…where it was just uzi going “okay imma show yall i can rap too” and TOUR LIFE pt 2 tacked on…the rapping was fun though
Pink Tape has a lot more variety but the execution feels like a miss
hilarious both uzi and carti rapped about people thinking they’re gay
First thirst of the album is a carti tribute
after letting it settle in this is easily better than EA
pluto to mars
patience
days come and go
rehab
is an S tier run, plus fun bangers like
flooded the face
nakamura
i gotta
crush em
i gotta
expensive fashion
fire alarm
top 10 uzi with The End and Werewolf

Da nigga ain’t lied this whole thread
I can’t sit and be sastifed with pink tape man. Like can anyone not see this nigga lacks serious creative direction and just doesn’t have good ideas musically. I mean first half is just inspo from WLR. We got melodic songs but these songs are so boring compared to the melodic Uzi we love. Hell these “experimental” songs.. more like entry level, sounds smart to a dumb nigga, poor excution, type songs.
This my fav artist of the last 5 years and I feel like he just lost in the moment. Uzi don’t particularly have a “sound” either at this point too
great album
i’m basic cause p2 is my favourite song on eternal atake
give me the same nostalgia as xo tour life
wild it’s been out for the same amount of time as xo
