Regardless of how I feel about C3 and Wayne album discography, Wayne does have many many classic mixtapes doe and was definitely one of my influences when I was first learning how to rap

It's not Kendrick level clean and I'd even put Drake's disco above Wayne's if we go album for album. but this s*** isn't all about albums to me it's more about how good you rap on a beat. call me old school

Em’s overwhelming sucess is because half the people that listen to him don’t even listen to rap “I don’t like rap but I like Eminem” and he appealed to white teenagers and engaged in white pop culture lol. That’s what took him to being MASSIVE HUMONGOUS. He was white so he inherently had that crossover appeal he appealed to the whitesBut either way, his hook game used to be really good, he had good albums, he rapped really well, and he had a very unique jarring persona
Yeah that was like a hack that put him in the triple Diamond or whatever tier of sales. Meant more the acclaim and credibility through co-signs. Missy Elliot had him on her album almost before he even blew up.

I think they cared about album quality before caring specifically about rapping ability was even a thing. It's not like bars were necessarily the focus of at the beginning of raps history. Became a thing between Paid in Full and Illmatic.
I can get with that. I mean at the point rap fans were overwhelmingly calling Wayne an Goat he already had C2 and C3. he had is diploma but most importantly he was great at his job.
