You CAN NOT love rap, be a rap nerd and not think that is a phenomenal album. Just say you never listened to it. Zero Skips, creative concepts, great hooks, beats, and bars through out. Every single verse is well crafted and couldn’t be any better for what it is

Sure I already made a post about how digging through the "mid" of Lil Wayne's discography was part of the fun back in '06-'09 cause the mid was often still fascinating.
But people saying a cleaner discography that might lean more toward quality over quantity and songcraft over just rapping ability is a "white rubric" is wild.
Nobody ever called Run or DMC the hardest lyricists but they were still the biggest group with some of the most cohesive albums of the 80s. Kanye didn't even come close to inventing that.

Nah he got that far and that much acclaim despite being white not because of it. Vanilla Ice already proved people were ready to absolutely hate white rappers and Beastie Boys already proved white rappers could have plenty of credibility.

Em’s overwhelming sucess is because half the people that listen to him don’t even listen to rap “I don’t like rap but I like Eminem” and he appealed to white teenagers and engaged in white pop culture lol. That’s what took him to being MASSIVE HUMONGOUS. He was white so he inherently had that crossover appeal he appealed to the whitesBut either way, his hook game used to be really good, he had good albums, he rapped really well, and he had a very unique jarring persona
