    A Mad Ass Nigga

For me personally it seem like he lost his charm. I gave D6 a high spin the other day and while he still have bars here and there, when he does come with them, they don’t pop anymore. It’s like there’s no swag or whatever word you wanna use anymore. If the bars were there 100% of the time I could look past it but he’s inconsistent lyrically these days as well. And if you say he’s not on the same level y’all act a fool like it’s a hot take or something. It’s not a “he’s trash” overrated but a he’s not the same Weezy and we gotta admit that overrated.

listen to his verse on My Dawg, he still got swag on that verse

    He still under rated.

Has the highest amount of quality songs + hits vs almost every other rapper.

That's cuz nowadays he's into rapping as fast as he can and squeezing a million syllables into every line

He lost his clever and original approach to rapping

his fast rapping sounds better than Eminem's for sure. Eminem sounds like a robot when he fast raps, when Wayne does it it sounds cool and natural

As a fan,I’ve always thought about Tha Carter series as an original mixtape that Wayne puts his stamp of approval on,that’s why it’s called Tha Carter,it’s like him putting his signature on something and approving it. It’s not meant to be cohesive or artistic,Tha Carter series is just a documented update on Lil Wayne through his raps/music.

Yeah that's what he does as an artist, doesn't take himself seriously just pumps out songs, when he was at the peak of his rapping it had its charm but ultimately his discog is a mess bc he has had so many diff styles and you have to weed out a lot of trash

Next to Eminem he's probably the legend with the most straight up trash projects and songs

Dedication 6 and Reloaded were awesome.

    Carter V was like a 7.5/10 Joint

Wayne was a bigger superstar in rap and more respected as a rapper. Drake is a bigger superstar in music in general and bigger worldwide.

Bad bunny bigger than both if we keeping it g

True but's it hard to ignore that Drake's reach worldwide rivals Eminem's while Wayne wasn't as big as them outside the USA. Even Kanye's much bigger overseas than Wayne.

But, if we're strictly talking about the USA, I do believe Wayne was the bigger superstar in his peak than Drake at his peak.

that's true, Wayne is not that huge worldwide

Closest album Drake has to touchig a Carter album but it genuinely was a different type of hype. Wayne felt like larger than life superstar on C3 and especially 4,Drake was a star with something to prove on Views.

Idk man drake’s hype was huge during views. Hotline bling, back to back, one dance and all the memes that came with those was crazy. Couldnt walk outside without hearing one of those songs

But as a true superstar,I think he was able to get away with it tbh. His star is on his last leg now and he’s decline rap wise so it’s hard for him to hide behind celebrity but back then, new Wayne was an event, not an artistic expression.

Kanye is big worldwide due to international white boomers who think hes a "jackass" & "asshole" for his pre 2010 antics so they clown anything he does in newspaper comments, and big with Gen Y & Z creatives worldwide

Wayne has no controversy overweight old folk in Britain can talk about, or creative endevours for kids to talk about

Yea,that album had huge hits and kinda started meme culture in ways, hmmmm. Like I said, two different types of hype

i'm sure you haven't heard many of Wayne's best songs which is scattered through his discography(which is a little messy yes, you gotta find no dj of certains tapes like D2 and The Suffix, you gotta compile sessions and many songs are low quallity)

Drake is 100% one of the more underrated rappers in the game today, and maybe all time.

    Srs.

Niggas talk about Drake like he's this pop act, and ignore the work he's put in as a pure rapper. His pure rap catalogue alone is one of the best the game's seen but somehow niggas can't compartmentalize someone being an elite rapper and making find your love.

Nah I disagree. Drake is a great rapper but there’s better rappers with better albums than him. If he wants to be praised as a pure rapper than he needs to drop a classic pure rap album

That controversy was mostly confined to the US though.

In Europe, Japan, Korea, and parts of Latin America, Kanye is really big musically especially compared to Wayne.

There was even an anime in Japan where two of the main characters were named after Kanye and 50 Cent lol.
