his superpower of being the guy who could do the 2000’s foundational lyrical rap superstar s*** + keep up with the new bounces and sounds needs that atlanta swag/influence from that scene to work

those Kendrick “reference tracks” that leaked for Baby Keem & Jay Rock songs were actually written by Baby Keem & Jay Rock for Kendrick, but he didn’t wind up using them on his albums so he let the original writers keep the songs for themselves because he’s a nice guy
Then how come we’ve never heard a Kendrick song have a reference track
