WESLEYS THEORYThere's more risk for him alienating all the prejudice folks and flat out racists to win over the "woke" crowd. Because even if Trump came out tomorrow and denounced the entire law enforcement system and announced plans for radical reform, there would still be a lot of skeptics who aren't willing to jump on the Trump train.
Trump doesn't take risk, so he's gonna stick with the crowd who will die on the hill with him, instead of trying to incite any real positive change like a President should.
im not saying he has to go THAT far (he should) but like you say that would alienate his actual fanbase....
if he just went out and sought justice for floyds murder he would gather 'some' support from the protesters atleast while keeping his core fanbase

but thats literally the complete opposite of what hes doing because hes a dumbass

anti fascism group. They turned up yesterday in minesota (about 5/6 trucks worth of people in tefflon and with ak's and a pipes) and gave a speech but no police rolled through

But that's the thing
His core fanbase doesn't WANT change. They dont see anything unjust with the current situation. George Floyd to them was an isolated incident, instead of the straw that broke the camels back. Most of the time, they think "Well if that negro had only listened and followed what the officer was saying.. The real pushback from all of this has been all the people for change vs. the people who aren't, and that is Trumps fanbase. If Trump comes out and does anything to appeal to the protesters, his fanbase will see that and react negatively.

trump wanted to link antifa to the protests and then he wanted to call it a "terrorist organization" (despite not even being an official organization), that way protesters can just be identified and jailed, tracked, or even worse.
