Defeating racism is an inside job,us bringing our problems on a national stage only gives white supremacy a national stage. We can’t do that, these riots are needed but we needed to know what we are targeting and when to stop for our sake. There is an evil man in the White House right now that doesn’t want to see us win,we don’t have to play his game but we need to know better not to run into his traps.

We gotta go back and communicate with us and leave these people out of it. It starts on your neighborhood block man,you gotta chip away at this oppression piece by piece. These cop need to be brought to justice but we gotta see another day so we can obliterate the next atrocities toward people of color,we gotta play it smarter than this

Can somebody make a case for this blackout? I rly don't get the thought process behind it honestly

  • Jun 2, 2020

We just gotta keep going with the protests and riots. We dont let Trump says his thanks on Twitter for law enforcement handling this situation. F*** that

The premise is to blackout your social media content that you’d normally post and fully focus on promoting things attached to the cause right?

Think people are misunderstanding the blackout to be a full blackout from social media

Watching the evening news right now in my country and they’ve been covering the situation.

They went with a sympathetic angle for Americans being brutalized by police by showing videos of cops beating people up.
Compared Trump, Obama and Biden reactions to police violence.
Then Showed a segment of cops hugging people talking about how all cops aren't bad.... THEN they went on for a looong time about the looting and how convenience store owners from this country are having their things destroyed.

Sadly EVERY clip they showed of the looting was of black people. This country loves it’s low-key racism.

it's og purpose was to make sure music industry people aren't posting personal s*** on they socials today I'm pretty sure but are instead focusing on the protesting currently going on and raising awareness

that has now been spun a bunch of dif ways and has turned into a massive slap in the face

Check social media in Asia. It’s about 40% laughing, 30% solidarity, 30% do not care.

What are people trying to accomplish with the ‘black out’

The original thought process was for people in the music industry to stop all things music industry-related so that the focus could go to the protests but somehow shifted to essentially a break from social media and you know why they did this.

Considering it's Asia 30% solidarity is amazing I guess. Was expecting less than 10% tbh lol

I totally understand the point of the blackout, but man it’s just backfiring at this point. The entire BLM hashtag on Instagram is just flooded with black squares and is almost impossible to find any useful information on the cause (fundraisers, protests, etc.)
