Can somebody make a case for this blackout? I rly don't get the thought process behind it honestly
In my country (Denmark) the fact that allot of people and artist are doing this, meant that when I open instagram today I was hit by maybe 10-15 black screen photos with the caption Black Lives Matter.
That makes an impression and will get some peoples attention, and start debats
This is not saying that posting videos of the violence will not and that a blackout fixes things
Police brutality needs to end
We need to vote for the right people for that, rioting isn't the answer.

how long y'all been voting for
s*** ain't changed

The right person was ousted out for not being establisment enough, it's going to take more than voting.
Considering it's Asia 30% solidarity is amazing I guess. Was expecting less than 10% tbh lol
I might be exaggerating slightly but at least in my network of friends and family people are posting #blacklivesmatter and pictures of George. The news is paying a lot of attention to it as well.
Police in my country are neutered after what they did in the 80s to the point they do not carry weapons at all and their only actions are to “deescalate” and hope people comply(which they often do). So it’s shocking to see fully armed police beating people up in the streets.

Vote and riot

Blackliveatter? That goes hard
at least #donotuse is trending in the U.S. Hopefully that will get people to stop using the blm hashtag
Ppl rly not posting anything at all during this black out thing? Like not even about the protests??
If that's the case u cannot convince me this isn't a psy-op brah this way too sus
It's to make everyone focus on the protests and know why their feed is just black squares
voting is important and everybody should do their part to vote this racist f*** out of office in november
but voting alone isn't enough and won't bring the change needed
I totally understand the point of the blackout, but man it’s just backfiring at this point. The entire BLM hashtag on Instagram is just flooded with black squares and is almost impossible to find any useful information on the cause (fundraisers, protests, etc.)
Originally wasn't meant for regular people but the music industry without context and just meant to be done, but it was "hi jacked" i guess and now everyone is doing it
i know im talking federal
I mean it’s kinda ritualistic and symbolic but it doesn’t solve the bleeding gashes that we need to attend to

Anger is such a strong emotion bruh,so many black people acting outta anger while groups of white people are acting out of hate. We just want change, that’s it but this is all a twisted game right now a lot of black people out there haven’t even experienced from white people till now tbh. Or else they wouldn’t be out there thinking riot riot riot is the complete answer,it’s a piece of the puzzle, not the answer.
