  • Stands alongside any of the classics from the East Coast, s*** has aged like wine. It has such a classic, timeless sound and swagger to it, I remember when it first dropped and it sounded like NOTHING I ever heard. I was so proud too as a New Yorker seeing the city revitalized around this time.

Is Sandman a relatively new song or a leftover from 2011? If it's new, the fact that it slots in pretty perfectly proves to me how iconic that sound is

Yeah of all time. It'll be 10 years tomorrow, it's not like this came out yesterday. This s*** is certified.

Its a cool tape but really isnt near like a cuban linx, reasonable doubt, illmatic, ready to die, low end theory/midnight marauders, liquid swords for me AT ALL

I prefer it over Cuban Linx and Reasonable Doubt tbh

Might get s*** for that but idc this album helped birth a subgenre

Probably in my top 10 albums ever

It is certainly top 5 of our generation

I was kinda with you but,LLA is not in the same league as OB4CL. I can see why someone would say that tho cause LLA is actually more accessible the OB4CL,unless your a hardcore Hip Hop fan,OB4CL is a complex album.

Rocky, Mac, and Tribe dropped three of my all time favorite albums in the 2010s that I would easily but up alongside anything from east coast hip hop's canon

I mean I listed that too but Cuban Linx is supreme lyricism from top to bottom, literally feels cinematic and every feature is god tier and has some of my favorite production ever and Ghost and rae’s chemistry is on a different level

Comparing that to Live Love Asap is laughable to me but Ive never loved that tape

S*** like Trilla, Kissing Pink, Roll One Up I dont get the appeal of at all and songs like Leaf, Demon, and Bass are carried by the beat to me but obviously it has classic songs like Peso, Wassup, and Brand New Guy

  • Oct 30, 2021

It's the best mixtape of all time take that as you want

I love OB4CL, but I feel like RZA's best work as a producer was on 36 Chambers and Liquid Swords, the latter of which is far less accessible than OB4CL

Wu, GZA, and Rae all dropped some of my favorite albums of all time though don't get it confused

They aren’t good songs to me like at all

Especially Trilla the beat isnt that good, Rockys verse is mid and the other verses are trash

In a vacuum you can highlight whatever argument you want but as someone who loves both of these projects the listening experience is similarly enjoyable honestly ☠️

Trilla sounds like a drunken UGK song and Roll One Up is such a chill track lol

idk bro they just arent good to me

Crazy thing is I like rocky a lot, just not that era. His rapping was pretty inconsistent to me at that point and I didnt always love the production, and even on a song where I do love the production like Bass Rocky just does nothing for it on me

Honestly the most overrated project of all time for me, like I like the project but I like his other projects more and think he only got better from that tape
