Like Monique, Queen Latifah, Mia Amber Davis, etc, were all bigger black women who just embraced it and flaunted it but did so with like, real confidence, if that makes sense. Lizzo always seems to be overcompensating for something and deliberately sanding down all the edges to seem like she's happier and more whimsical than she actually is. Very manufactured and insincere public image, even by Hollywood standards. Kinda like Taylor Swift tbh.

She was hanging out with a dude who had a Swastika plastered on his shirt but fronts this very family friendly image. It's super eerie, kinda like how the Clintons used to market themselves as these aspirational Americans and had an almost too sanitized public image

She kinda did what Gabriel Iglesias did and just brought up her size all the time and made that the forefront of her identity. Like that's basically why she's relevant. For the aforementioned, they never hid it and totally owned it but just didn't like constantly center their public images around it while never downplaying it either. It just came across as authentic confidence, whereas Lizzo's always seemed bizarrely insecure about her appearance to the point where it was kind of unnerving following her as a public figure. Something just felt uneasy.
