i was ready to clown the guy till he BACKED it up with fact 1,2,3,4,5, and so on
anybody with respect for the game cant laugh at a resume like that
I miss rap being cool like this. Good music for the fellas and the chicks that don't sound corny, got women R&B singers on the hook, and that you can play at the club. This track really timeless.
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AD9CAPKs9cNigga was pouring chocolate syrup on a b**** knees broad daylight in the middle of summer, and that was the flyest s*** ever back then. Who was gonna tell him otherwise?
Yeah man Unc was different
Humanity in general was cooler back then
Social media made humans neurotic, narcissistic, judgmental weirdos
That’s nice for him. Sure he’ll get his flowers. Deserves it, Why does this matter tho? Lmfao
The FORCE is the best veteran rap album of the last ten years besides Nas’s run

I mean yeah he's one of the first big mainstream rappers ever. He's the blueprint for a lot of things.
I think his era deserves more respect I don’t like how we do our legends. It’s gon take him to die for jiggas to show him rightful respect
I feel like people do get their respects but like bruh left hiphop to explore other ventures and now that he’s fully back, it’s fair to want your flowers but just do what you did hiphop for in the first place, which was just the love. You already made it, you already a certified goat. You got nothing left to prove but I feel like older generations always feel like they have unfinished business cause they didn’t get enough flowers? Idk it’s a weird cycle to get stuck within. I’m just happy to make music with my brothers and pray we one day make riches of it. All that goat s*** is fleeting
It really all depends on your metric of measuring greatness
If we talking bout who broke the most ground, he definitely is high up there in that conversation without a doubt
If we talking about whose the nicest, has the best discography, the most hits, etc I think a lot of rappers that came after him clear him pretty easily
I mean I can see
But he’s lowkey taking credit for a lot of s*** he didn’t start when it comes to love song influence in hiphop I can give that to whodini with one love

and he’s taking credit for chains and jewelry and s*** the fat boys and other groups had big chains before him

Yeah I agree wit you bro but I also think there is this weird thing where the foundational eras off hip hop don’t get the same respect as other genres’ legends.
We got guys like Carti and Ken Carson being called the GOAT why we singling out LL Cool J? Didn’t he literally coin the term?

I feel that. We could talk about our legends more so maybe that’s where it comes from

I think this thread is a positive one based on replies
He is a widely underrated legend these days for some reason, basically the original Drake

I thought it was good, but this is pushing it lol
Was he important to mainstream Rap? Of course.
Is he the greatest of all time? He’s not even top 25
