I have started my transition to Bitwarden. I am now trying to change my Steam password. For Steam, I have 2FA enabled which shows the code on your Steam mobile app. For some reason, I am no longer logged in on Steam mobile. When I log in on Steam mobile, I get asked for a code I cannot obtain. Luckily, Steam allows you to enter a back up code given to you at the time of enabling 2FA in case something like this happens. Less luckily, this code appears to be 7 characters while I only wrote down 6 characters back in the day.

Contact steam support. Submit a ticket. Make sure you have the email associated with that 2FA account or any phone numbers, purchase history, debit/credit cards etc that can prove you’re that owner. Explain your situation

It’s a b**** if you don’t have that stuff but usually the more proof you can present they make it easier

I once got logged out the Steam app and somehow the code was still showing to me while trying to log in. It showed embeded into the website.

Contact the support, but every time I contacted them, they replied in a week or more, maybe it's different now.

Next time let them send the code by email and have 2FA on your mail or something.
