Well I mean the numbers back up his claim

By your logic, vanilla ice should be in the conversation as one of the greatest too. He was a dope mc and could dance but, my man....

Commercial success in music is more about marketing

If you're older than 14 you should already be aware of this

What I don't understand about Logic is that he's extremely sensitive to criticism thus probably aware that he gets s*** for being a biter, yet could never just stop biting and do something original.

He brings it on himself. Like biting is stronger than him and he simply can't resist. Foolishness.

Also I don't understand how No I.D. just let him interpolate the Elevators chorus and acted like it's cool lmao

He def doesn't care about Logic and only worked with him for a paycheck

i really can't understand joe budden's appeal. can a fan explain it to me? he's like shock jock radio hosts, but without the humor. his musical takes are dusty boomer tier and his co-hosts are borderline smoothbrains. joe is the smartest of the bunch but idk man

he has controversial opinions but it's a lot more entertaining than the personalities who won't criticise any of the big names at all. What's the point of listening to somebody's opinion if it's just like the rest of the mainstream?

Though Joe plays it way too safe when he knows the artist personally lol

I ain’t gon lie Joe rubbed me the wrong way with his Lupe Dinosaurs review

Was completely off on his interpretation and that type of thinking is why niggas always rapping about pateks and cars and s***

He’s morphing into a caricature but he gotta stick to it Bc the podcast kind of popping now

But 90% of the time he’s loud and wrong really just tryna get views and be funny. It piss me off when no one correct him on the facts he be missing either. Ion wanna say this is a recent change but dude used to be way more a***ytical ES days IMO

That being said I never listened to Logic but kinda feel bad for him. For this s*** to push him to quit I can see it got him to a way darker place than he’s letting on and the nigga just said he wanted to kill himself

Exactly how I feel. Remember back in the day when they did album reviews, and greatest MC lists, and just generally got into like contracts and labels. Thoughtful discussions even if it was barbershop level intelligence.

Now it’s all lipstick alley s***.

  • An opinion leads to a death...Right...

Half of y’all feel bad for logic but never listened to a song. Doesn’t that make Joe’s opinions more valid?

    No Pressure

you clearly don't know they have been working even before he was getting money?

Doesn't mean much, Dre has been working with Eminem from the beginning but after a couple projects he stopped inserting artistic output and just let him do whatever he wants.

How many times we gonna have to say numbers don’t mean s*** except you appeal to the common denominator of rap fans. Sales don’t mean s*** when it comes to actual skill

But we talking about success and the only way to get a idea of success is numbers

Not too much trash last for 10 years and Logic is talented

Man sells out tours, sells mad records and built a solid fanbase

Logic hate is so damn corny

Y’all like to discredit artist numbers depending on who you like and don’t like

No it's just that certain people have better opportunities to market themselves in a specific ways.
I'll always be impressed by numbers when the artists defeated all odds or just outdid themselves/surpassed others.

Being a white passing rapper with a smart/nerd aesthetic selling to a crowd of rap nerds with stolen ideas (allegedly stole the suicide song concept, allegedly bites kendrick lamar) isn't that impressive to me, because he caters to a niche.

I'm not using the term rap nerds as a pejorative, it's just the way I'd describe those who are fully into the fast raps and identify with his gaming/comic book loving /chess playing personality

Alot of rappers regardless of color market themselves pretty well

Another example, 50 cent really profited off the
"hypermasculine black man stereotype" , with I'll fuxk your b/have more money than you /you want to be me/you can't f with me , bars.
Till this day people defend 50s mediocre verses (latter part of his career) by reiterating those points :he's doing way better than ypu blablabla (mind you the topic of discussion is the quality or lack there off of his new music)

How you feel about the artist and the actual success of that artist it two different things

Nobody said you had to like Logic but he has been very successful

No matter what you try to say that’s just facts bro

Don’t think I said that but alright

From what I've seen Logic's fan base is mainly the "he's different than those other rappers" crowd.

Like if J.Cole wasn't relatable enough bc he plays basketball which is a cool hobby and attacks white ppl sometimes, here's a completely white passing gaming nerd who raps even faster.
