Travis could've cut some songs from Astro like WHO WHAT? or Butterfly Effect
Same with Drake he could've cut half of scorpion for a better album but he decides to go all out on the length
drake said in hindsight he should’ve cut songs but he was obsessed with ready 2 die at the time and the idea of doing a 20 song double album
yeah i guess it can boost first week numbers
but let's look at the long term picture
these are spotify streaming numbers for My Turn by Lil Baby with a little breakdown
tbh this is just my thread where i'll be posting some s*** but feel free to discuss
The boost first week sales but let's look at the BIGGER picture.
Im not good with math someone explain
Lmao. Long term the streams come from a smaller number of songs.
Long albums only "boost" FW sales.
This is actually an interesting point.
Tbh it's kinda common sense thing that album sales are being driven mostly by the hit songs, therefore length of an album doesn't matter like that
However, throwing more songs means bigger chance of at least couple more of them blowing up
Wonder how the deluxe album trend fits in with this data, is there a big boost once deluxe hits and do the numbers stay the same or actually increase for the older songs after the first couple weeks
Die Lit
4 (21%) songs = 50%
10 (53%) songs = 80%
14 (74%) songs = 90%
kinda smoother
The people sleeping on Mileage

u usign spotify api?
i thought on doing this but for some dumb reason it doesn't provide number of streams for songs
So it's all manual, checking streams in spotify app for each song - > doing excel stuff
Yeezus
2 (20%) songs = 55%
5 (50%) songs = 80%
7 (70%) songs = 90%
Can you do Starboy?
