& Kanye did very little for the motm albums creatively
I mean just looking at the credits, only Cudi Montage and Reborn primarily credit cudi and his team as producers. The rest of the songs are being produced primarily by Ye’s team. Which means even if those songs we’re initially sketched out by Cudi and his team, Ye and his team made enough changes to it that they all uniformly believed that those songs had more contributions from Ye than Cudi musically if he and his team are being primarily credited
Nothing that the post you responded to was wrong end of the day. Cudi hasn’t sounded or rapped this good since MOTM days which spoiler alert have Kanye involvement as well. Ask yourself why this mf consistently can’t deliver unless Kanye is working with him.

Wrong. It was always a collab album. If you read that Complex article, it says CyHi has pretty much confirmed the rumors that 'Ye and Cudi are working on a "top-secret project" When CyHi said “Kid Cudi’s album,” he clearly meant the above in italics.

Bro, the only reason we got MOTM-vintage Cudi was because of Kanye. PPDS was a return to form a little bit, but Cudi wasn’t rapping his 09-10 flows on PPDS at all. That didn’t come through until KSG, Ye really brought that back out of him again. Not to mention the classic MOTM era hooks we got.
Kanye only adds to this album. It’s thanks to him we got Cudi singing over God tier Jeff Bhasker production on FREEE & spooky samples like 4th Dimension.
Yeah, Cudi may have co production credit on Reborn & Cudi Montage, but those beats wouldn’t have turned out near as good without the guiding hand of Kanye. Give me one Cudi produced beat that is as layered as anything like Reborn or Cudi Montage. Idgaf if Kanye has no production credit on those, he was still “creative director” of all those 2018 albums.

Feel the love and 4th dimension also feature zero production credits from Cudi or his team. They both literally brought 2 tracks each from their teams into this project and then worked on the other 3 together and the other 3 songs are mostly Kanye and his team while Cudi just helped on his own because his usual team wasn’t credited

Cudi put a lot of work into that, especially Reborn and Cudi Montage
He's on video saying he started those songs and then brought them to Kanye for the collab
Anything with Dot and Plain Pat credited is Cudi's team

I never understood the debate surrounding who washed who. I know this is part of what hiphop is about.. but its a collab between 2 legendary artists and I’ve always felt like they both shined equally on the project
