Nah I just get heartburn and sometimes get a little acid come up to my throat. Nothing serious. I just heard grappling makes it worse.

I've done bjj and wrestled before so i'm not in any hesitation to get back to grappling.

I'm trying to learn a striking art too and I believe Muay thai is the best.

How's your experience with mma and acid reflux? are you taking any pills atm?

Brother I used to get tossed around and flipped all the time in Greco-Roman all the time. You’ll get nauseous sometimes from dizziness if anything, but I never had acid come up on me.

But, I’m not entirely sure what you might have g, yours could be worse than mine

If you want to get into Muay Thai, I STRONGLY recommend doing 6 months of pure Boxing first. I did boxing first and met with Muay Thai coaches after who told me my conditioning was decent.

Biggest thing is gonna be cardio, funny enough.

    @MikeG

Go to your pharmacy & ask them for
OTC vitamins that’d help with AR. I went back in the day & they gave me probiotic booster pills that did the trick (I have a weak inner-stomach lining).

I stopped drinking soft drinks + coffee + hot sauce and it’s MUCH better for me tbh

yo its the coffee , Im actually doing pretty well with my AR as of late actually!

I'll def do some boxing first for 6 months then do muay thai after.

How did you manage boxing +bjj? did you learn them at the same time?

Also are you from Toronto too?

Ya fam I live in Toronto but learned all that s*** in QC when my pops transferred there (used to live there for a bit).

When I get into Muay Thai tho, it’s gonna be in Toronto I’m not looking to complete either, just doing it for self-defense, etc.

Im in Brampton(born and raised in Toronto, Rexdale) atm and i am itching to join some muay thai/boxing. Lockdown has been a b**** so far.

Yeah I just want to improve my hands and work on my striking tbh and get some self defense as well.

  • I'd really like to brush up/hone my fighting skills, and muay Thai seems to suite me best. But between working 30 hours, being a student, and goin to the gym 4 days a week for 2 hours at a time, idk where I could pencil it in.

And obviously I want a social life too. damn. Becoming a warrior is tough lol
