I really really like this
The meandering second part has already grown on me: I would just put Helen of Troy in there, to add a little energy.
I think they’re just gonna give it like a 7.2 and call it a day
I would've thought this before that Mood Ring Track Review.
I'm getting 6.0 vibes. Any lower and I would just laugh and wait for the absolute shambles.
I saw some ppl compare what PItchfork is doing to her to what they did with Lover, but that album was a bit better than what the singles teased so... idk

Maybe old pitchfork
Condé Nast pitchfork are too boring to pan a project like this to that extent

You right.
Will definitely be a thing I think where the review is much harsher than the actual score.
too many guitar squeaks

They gotta get her for pitchfork fest
SECRETS FROM A GIRL WHOS SEEN IT ALL IS THE ONE
Edit: welcome to sadness part feels like something twenty one pilots would’ve done in 2015
The "welcome to sadness" part is the worst part of the record.
I like everything else tho
Okay I was reminiscing about Melodrama and the disappointment has now kicked in about this album lol

I’d be more disappointed if she tried to keep on that lane but failed greatly
This being so different makes me able to enjoy it for what it is
But you’re right melodrama was on another level. And I think SHE still has another (or several more) albums on that level in her. It’s just a case of wanting to cultivate that kind of team/project again rather than stripped back guitar stuff made mostly with only one producer

I love the song, and then I have to endure this very cringy moment. If she reveals that her fifteen years old self wrote it in a diary, I could be fond of it, a little...
can someone upload the hi-res versions of the bonus tracks u get from buying the music box rather than the vinyl rip
i checked it thank you. wait so you copped the download code or u got it from someone else
Based off first listen...It's alright. Every goat has 1 dud in their discog so this might be hers
This album has some instances where the production is nice but lyrically it's a bit cringe or vice versa. I get going for a summery vibe type of album but man her lyrics at times comes across as basic hippie white girl that it brings the song as a whole a tad down.
I respect that she was willing to give this sound a try but at the same time the whole strip-back stuff is not new to her and she managed to pull it off much better in the past. Maybe if she worked with more producers it could've been better? But who knows.
Maybe it'll grow on me with more listens but eh.
Songs I liked excluding the singles
The Path
Big Star (this one lyrically is cute bout her dog n all)
California
Secrets from a Girl. Reminds me a lot of Mood ring which i liked a lot
