It makes perfect sense to me. Writing wise it's arguably the strongest she's ever been. It's completely different in tone from her previous two albums. The more stripped back production is a perfect match with her level up as a writer and highlights her own performance. Literally not a single skip on here. I'd hesitate to say there's even a single mediocre song on here period.
