Ok, I was wearing headphones last night so I just turned it all the way up on the speakers.
WHERE ARE THE "TEETH"
It's a fine song. I actually do like the writing in the verses. "I wear smoke like a wedding veil, make a meal I won't eat..."
But the rest of it just doesn't go THERE. Or anywhere.
I’m really getting a Jim e stack x lorde album
It probably won’t be but wouldn’t be mad if this was the album cover
“One only wishes “What Was That” did justice to molly-wide pupils or the memory of the “best cigarette of my life.” Then again, the high’s never as good the second time around”
Damn, no Best New Music too

https://twitter.com/pitchfork/status/1915482547460665495It's interesting a review like this because honestly the reception of this single is quite reminiscent of Green Light.
I certainly don't think this song is as epic of a venture as Green Light—and I say that as someone who also felt that song was underwhelming upon release—but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
In all seriousness, I'm so down for a Lorde course correct from Solar Power and I do think the demand is there outside of me. I just don't know if this is it and I hope she kinda keeps her foot on the gas in terms of singles instead of a lengthy rollout like Solar Power.
waiting for the album for full thoughts. and i loved solar power upon first listen
completely forgot she posted a story with her & Fabiana palladino in the studio a few months ago. PEAK INCOMING
The problem with making an album like melodrama is your fans will never accept anything less than that ever again lol
she’s talking about her ex she split up with a couple years ago that she had been talking to since she was 17
cool but when she's writing about it in almost the exact same way she was writing about it in 2017 without any new revelations or insight with vaguely the same style of production it comes across very stale

probably the most overhated album to come out in recent years. i'm not even that big of a fan of it overall but there are too many great songs on it to s*** on it like it's f***ing terrible or something. the mid rehash-ery of this new song just highlights how overhated it was, and seeing the reception to this overall confirms that her fans really just want her to make the same s*** for the rest of her life
what program is that guys
