s***, i was "defending" a maroon 5 tracklist yesterday tbh lol. i like jack's work and i enjoy how prolific he is. what i don't like is the echo chamber this site becomes sometimes. it's tired and boring, so i just try to create some balance (when i think it's the right thing to do).

NFR and Melodrama are two of my favorite albums last decade, so that's really why you may see me champion him on here. He also had a hand in Taylor's releases last year which are my favorite from her.

as far as pop/alt go, i think he's killin it. so what he produces these women's entire albums, you know? that's what producers used to be like for the most part. it's admirable to me.

I think Jack Antonoff is way way over hated but its not a good thing that he seems to be a big presence on literally every big 'alt pop' album around imo.

Not saying it's good, but producers used to have eras. Antonoff is gonna have to be on like 20 more albums to reach Phil Spector's output. Quincy Jones is Quincy Jones. Even outside of pop, you got the Mike Deans and Rick Rubins of the world. And Spector only produced blassics. Maybe if someone drops garbage mid bc of Jack, then you should start worrying

its a “little universe” that is reliant on the collective hubris of self-important people. Its not believable for this person who’s trying to paint a zen like image of herself to simultaneously sing about her boyfriend taking her ig photos and cancelling plans on people whom she clearly paints herself incapable of having an honest relationship with.

the video doesnt even try to convince you shes building any universe, its just self importantly showing people doing yoga and playing chess on a “secret”(/privatized) beach.
