I think Nick Smith can be a Jordan Clarkson 20ppg scorer. He can be even more, he was a projected top 5 pick but was hurt his freshman year, he’s going be a steal. His shooting, ability to attack the rim, athletic ability would help us year1.

40- James Nnaji - Center - great wingspan, big and athletic, has the build to bang with bigs as a rookie

PF- AD, Vandy, Vet
SF- Lebron, Rui, vet
SG- Reaves, Lonnie, Max
PG- DLO, Dennis, Smith

Sign a couple vets and we would be ready

I would look to buy a 2nd rounder

Add a big , an athletic big 3&D wing, and a guard who can penetrate…. Go from there. Look at Reaves, Max were 2nd rounders/ undrafted… added bonus * 2nd round rookies are cheap, helps with the luxury tax

What guard do we have that is always breaking down the defense and attacking the rim? DLO strength is pick and roll, Lebron is getting older settled for more jumpers. Dennis once in awhile, Reaves is not attacking the rim. Nick Smith would add a great dynamic to this team

I like Kobe Bufkins but hes not falling to us so I would prefer
we just draft down and get Maxwell Lewis and/or Ben Sheppard

For the 40th pick, my first option would be Kobe Brown.

Strengths

• Good strong defender who can guard multiple positions (6'7 with a 7'1 wingspan)
• Great passer who can make plays
• Good finisher that physically overpowers defenders (62% at the rim)
• Good at spotting up in the corner (Shot 44% on catch and shoot 3s)

Weaknesses

• Doesn't have huge lateral quickness (struggles against fast guards)
• Shot under 29% in his first 3 years in college
• No pull up jumper (not good 1 on 1)

He fits the profile that Lakers usually look for. He can be a steal if his 3 point shoot is legit (shot 45% his senior year). A nice 3 and D player.

Problem is some team might select him before 40. He's projected to fall anywhere between 38 and 47.
