Rob Pelinka says when the Lakers embarked on their search, they wanted to see if they "could do something a little different."

Redick: "I have zero coaching experience in the NBA, but I'd argue that I'm very experienced." He traced his last 22 years going back to playing for Coach K, 15 seasons as player, and then with his exposure to NBA head coaches, vet players, etc. since his playing career ended. Much of what he's been doing has been building towards his desire to be a head coach.
