Redick says with AD, LeBron, Reaves, or any player, he can have a vision of how he wants to use them but it needs to be a collaboration. Says he talked with AD a week ago about some offensive and defensive ideas.
One thing that Redick spoke about with Anthony Davis was maximizing all of his abilities as a hub on offense, and tapping into what's really a varied skillset there.

"Our goal is to build a team that can compete for a championship," Rob Pelinka says. Says that's both short and long-term. Again mentions the second apron as a deterrent
Redick, asked about coaching philosophies, said that part of it is figuring out how to create margins for advantage on either end of the floor.
He noted that LAL were 29th in off. rebounding % last year, and thinks "giving players the freedom, especially from the corners, to crash, is huge."
Pelinka: Our goal is to build a team that can compete for championships...some trades are more difficult due to the aprons. Lakers will look for trades to become a better team but they don't have the same probability of making trades as they did under the old system
Rob Pelinka says that the new CBA makes it more difficult to complete trades, even though they have three first round picks to use. He says they will look for ways to improve the roster but is not sure if they will be able to put any deals together.

Rob Pelinka says Rui Hachimura is still thinking through if he will play for Japan in this summer's Olympics.
JJ Redick says he wants Rui Hachimura to shoot more 3s and believes Rui can become an elite offensive rebounder.
Redick cited "great" conversations he had with both Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura this weekend. He mentioned he thinks Hachimura can take more 3's (Rui shot 42.2% last year on 3.4 attempts) and crash the O glass more.
