Writing a paper on growing up as an immigrant in the United States. I'm one myself but I'd love to know what y'all went through when you moved here.
What values did your parents instill in you?
What was the toughest aspect about being an immigrant?
Did you have any pressure from your parents or society as a whole? Did this affect your mental health?
What's you ideal definition of the American Dream?
Also state where y’all from
Not sure what I can add. But my mom was told that going to college was only for white people so she never went. So since she didn’t go/saw how beneficial college can be she now puts the pressure on my sisters and I to get a higher education. I hope that was a little helpful

Had a similar situation to this with my father, so I get how this feels. I think what I got is enough. Shoutout to everyone who helped

I laughed at “old ass” but yeah that’s really f***ed up it was different times back then. Telling a kid “you can’t” is very dangerous, one of the yeezus shows I went to kanye had this crazy rant and it suddenly hit me all at once everything in his albums I was witnessing the product of his mom teaching him to be confident in what he can do, the proof was a packed stadium everyone’s attention on one man.
