lotr (disclaimer: i have not seen the star wars so i am only taking the first 3 into account!)
lotr (haven't seen any of the hobbit films and i don't think I intend to)
for me star wars some dog dump
harry potter alright tbh
only really like batman begins
Harry Potter world to me is more interesting because of how little we know and how practical the magic in that world is
TDK = ROTK = Empire >>>>>>
As a series:
LOTR
HP
TDK
SW
Star Wars is the most iconic film series ever, Empire is one of the best films ever and A New Hope is magical, but there's too many misses for it to be above any of the others as a series. The Dark Knight trilogy isn't far off from being the best in this list either, the textbook example of a blockbuster series with realistic depth - but Rises is a bit of a misstep (despite not being bad).
Then you have Harry Potter: absolutely no misses, a series that goes from good to great and you deeply care about the characters and the world - flew so the MCU could run after it. But man oh man, Lord of the Rings...the greatest trilogy in cinema history. The richest worldbuilding ever seen, a masterclass in blockbuster filmmaking, perfect casting and fleshed out characters. Every single film is hall of fame worthy on its own, but all together as a series...it's truly something special.
For me it goes:
1. LOTR - best story, characters, world,
cinematic experience, everything.
2. SW - Can't deny it's impact and greatness of the originals. Hindered by it's weaker prequels and even weaker sequels.. It's still a great world.
3. HP - I don't really like Harry Potter but it's really well done and engaging enough movies.
4. TDK - Just didn't do much for me. Comes off pretentious and try hard to me.
LOTR the most consistent
Can’t say it’s my favorite lore/series but it’s objectively as it stands better then SW in terms of film only.
