Honestly I don't think LOTR should be in the debate. It's obviously gonna win.
Out of the other 3 I'm still struggling between HP and TDK though
I guess I'll vote for HP for it's impressive world building.
TDK = ROTK = Empire >>>>>>
As a series:
LOTR
HP
TDK
SW
Star Wars is the most iconic film series ever, Empire is one of the best films ever and A New Hope is magical, but there's too many misses for it to be above any of the others as a series. The Dark Knight trilogy isn't far off from being the best in this list either, the textbook example of a blockbuster series with realistic depth - but Rises is a bit of a misstep (despite not being bad).
Then you have Harry Potter: absolutely no misses, a series that goes from good to great and you deeply care about the characters and the world - flew so the MCU could run after it. But man oh man, Lord of the Rings...the greatest trilogy in cinema history. The richest worldbuilding ever seen, a masterclass in blockbuster filmmaking, perfect casting and fleshed out characters. Every single film is hall of fame worthy on its own, but all together as a series...it's truly something special.
- BRAVEi cant really disagree with this at all...
I'd probably watch a movie out of the HP series or TDK over LOTR though... only because I don't have 3 plus hours for the extended versions.
But yeah you're 100% on this
the way this Star Wars series ending I got Harry Potter over it. plus ill probably even put Harry Potter over TDK series
Star wars vs Lord of the rings is pretty equal
Star wars 1-3 pretty mid and hobits pretty mid
But the last three movies in each are fire
Batman trilogy good but not as good as those two
Harry Potter not my thing
Haven't seen the new star wars
TDK
HP
SW
never seen a lotr movie
I would say you lucky but those are equally as good on rewatch.
star wars then lord of the rings
harry potter is mid and i haven’t seen the full dark knight series

Honestly, that's how I feel but a lot of people will tell you Dark Knight is the best trilogy/series hands down and don't like LOTR because of all the traveling/walking.

- BRAVEHit the nail on the head. Even The Hobbit movies aren't that bad tbh but man every Star Wars movie after the OG trilogy was completely ass cheeks (Episode 3 was solid tho)

Hobbit series could have been great but they threw Peter Jackson in there with no time to develop anything. Basically why you have CGI instead of practical effects for the Hobbits and also why it's so much less immersive.
