I will say about the tinder search, it showed in the next scene he was only browsing cause he needed a place to crash for that night. That’s why I think he hesitated to swipe on the older dude, but he still swiped

I thought some of the music drops mixed wit the slow mo shots looked cheesy as hell tbh.

I didn’t give a f*** about that Art nigga. Patrick and Tashi was definitely interesting characters and had me intrigued but whenever this whiny looking b**** Art was on the screen

The non-linear structure was cool, kind of similar to Oppenheimer but it wasn’t confusing. That’s prolly the best thing this movie has going for itself besides the acting. But the ACTUAL story was very meh to me.

Idk ima watch it again to see if it grows on me but for rn it’s iiiiight

Number one I am a woman. Number two there were different points that I was on my cell. I wasn't originally planning on to see this today. It was cool though. Do I usually post when watching a movie? Nope. If it is a film I am neutral towards I will sure look on my phone.

Nah you explain well what didn’t work for you, the score usage is a highlight to me but it is a bold choice and I can see how it wouldn’t work for everyone, and I can see the triangle dynamic falling apart if you don’t like one of the characters in it. Art’s overt patheticness is exactly why I liked him. He’s a good player, but never the best. Only time he had any drive is his competition over Tashi. There’s been some good a***ysis itt about their relationship dynamic and how it plays out, give it a read cause it’s definitely making me look forward to my next watch to see a new perspective

I like how it started and thought Art was coo at first, especially when he was like “Bruh wants ya number, we both do”

But then after when he started snitching and them both having a weird hatred for Patrick over nothing made me start checking out.

Her getting injured had nothing to do with Patrick. I can understand Tashi feeling that way as a way to cope, but it made zero sense for Art to just start hating bruh and cut him off. If anything Patrick should’ve been mad AT HIM for scooping in on his b****

agreed. These 2 things and the incredible OST were the highlights for me. The rest is mostly just fun enough Lifetime drama. (some scenes just stretch way too much for me because they're so predictable though - especially the whole scene near the end when Zendaya and Patrick f\*\*\* and everything leading up to that. Very predictable and honestly they just explained it incase the audience was too dumb to pick up on their dynamic

I do agree with this when I read the script I was hoping they’d do it all more subtlety. All we needed to see was Patrick ask her to be his coach —> she declines —> Art tells her he wants to retire —> she calls Pat —> they meet in the car and he tells her he’ll do it for her (I forget what the actual dialogue was but hints at them hooking up) —> she comes back to the hotel late —> Pat does the serve. Them showing us Tashi and Pat making out in the restaurant before she even asked him to lose was overkill

Tashi and Pat making out in the restaurant was in Atlanta. She cheated with him twice.

That’s why when he asked about her coaching he also asked “does he know about Atlanta?”

Id also say putting the reveal of the Atlanta incident right before she’s about to cheat again lessens the impact. We just see it happen back to back
