yeah i feel like early on it was boxed in more so. t.i., gucci and jeezy were all rapping about similar content and all had relatively similar sounds. after the 2010s it expanded greatly, due to people like future, thug and travis (who some people dont consider trap but he's heavily influenced).

i feel like UGK and Three6 dont get enough credit for being pioneers of that style of rap.
