I don't know why we constantly have the need to compare the two, neither of them remotely reminds me of the other, to be honest. Two totally different type of styles.

Exactly. Every time this comparison comes up its always the same: Kendrick makes better songs but Lupe is the better lyricist lol. Like dude bar for bar Lupe will eat Kendrick alive in any style of hip-hop.

I feel like people make the connection because it's easy but they're actually very different. Kendrick has just as much Wayne and Andre in him as he does Lupe.

What are you basing this on?

Lupe time and again has shown how refined he is as a songwriter. From concept, vocabulary, phrases, metaphors and other literary devices.. he has it locked. I have not seen the same level of refine-ness from Kendrick.

It's because lupe was also someone who made somewhat conscious music and was lyrical while also being in the mainstream
