    hey man relax

itt: ktt2 suburbans telling lupe, a black man who came from LITERALLY nothing, who has experienced first hand what he is speaking about, that he’s an idiot and his opinion is invalid because they took a couple college classes

    btw, just want to reiterate

a lot you guys on here love to use a new hot buzzword, “gaslighting”. that’s exactly what you’re doing to lupe, you’re telling him that these things he has witnessed firsthand, a reality that he lived, is invalid because of books that you read

i of course agree that cops need to be swiftly dealt with, but there is much more nuance to lupe’s argument than what the title of the video and op says, and he should be able to talk about topics that have directly effected his life without receiving hate for it, that’s literally the opposite of what we need to be doing. gotta stop dividing eachother

It's not that black people taking accountability is bad per se. But it ignores the systems and powers that put black people in these kinda f***ed up situations in the first place.

It's like this, you can't tell black people they need to stop killing one another and then not give them the means in which to educate and/or better themselves, but instead introduce their communities to d****, guns, poor schooling, etc.

It's not as simple as "Stop killing one another!" One must a***yze the conditions these people live in and how they got to where they're at.

For Lupe Fiasco to be on that respectability/accountability politics s*** when we are seeing right now what created these conditions, and discovering the truth is a very head ass stance to take in all this.

The accountability argument is brought up by wyt pipo who don't wanna engage with the issue/dismissive about it

Lol as funny as this is.

People need to stop believing he has identity problems when he specifically said culture. All the people arguing with him have equally or less connection to African culture

  • Jun 26, 2020

You guys would rather rep BLM reaction-without-change culture than a variety of ideas that could actually bring about the future you claim to want.

I disagree strongly with Lupe Fiasco here.

Black on black crime isn't really a thing when you look at the root cause. It's the result of systemic racisim.

Black on black crime is really just poor people committing crime to survive. Black people just so happen to make up the majority of those in poverty in America. . . I wonder why...

When slavery ended it's not like black people were given the opportunity to work and earn money and buy their houses etc.

White people were hell bent on keeping blacks at the bottom. This continued for centuries up until the civil rights act in 1964. . . So up until 56 years ago Jim Crow/separate but equal wasn't illegal under federal law... That's RECENT AS F***.

And it's not like racisim suddenly ended after that either. So here we are today we're we have many black people who's grand and great grand parents and further down the ancestry tree, who were not able to accumulate generational wealth all because of racist white bigots.

Now black people are stuck in the poverty cycle and committing crime amongst each other.

The easiest solution to all of this would be to get adult hood niggas to change their ways. . . too bad really life doesn't work that way. That's like trying get adults that are racist today to suddenly get rid of their life long bias and suddenly become open minded to people of all cultures and backgrounds. Ain't gonna happen over night.

The solution to this is a long term one which involves trying to insure that the kids off today and tomorrow don't end up like their parents. This is neither an easy nor a cheap task, but is far more realistic than trying to get 20, 30, and 40 year old hood niggas to suddenly become civil and cordial after a life time of gang banging. It's tough because it requires local governments to go above and beyond for young black youth.
