kanye has an eye but he is not a designer like the others people who have made their own styles, instead of co-opting and making it synonymous. Season 8 is the first one that stands out, all his other seasons were nothing like real shows where you instantly know "that's X designer's work"

Season 1 literally pulls from archive margiela and some others. That's been known and covered for years. The individual pieces maybe, but the style i'd never look at and be "that's a Kanye west piece". Especilly when his style for the longest was haider and then the military style he took from shia. Ima have to honestly disagree about Raf. His modern work is praised heavily, Dior was great, Jil Sander was good. CK had so much potential. Prada is gonna be incredible. All without sketching. Mind you I’m not denying that the Raf Simons brand itself has fallen off but I think it’s clear Raf is focusing his energy in projects what will solidify him a reigning spot in a historic house, like he tried to do with Dior.

I absolutely agree with Season 8 being Ye’s first defining show, and I agree with Ding probably being the largest influence of that. But that doesn’t take anything away from the fact that we’re still seeing what is Kanye’s vision.

I think it’s down to fact they know Ye would be really unreliable with approving and getting designs ready. Virgil seems to be a lot more organised with projects. Ye would great on a creative level but not on a business level. His Yeezy/Adidas seems to be on his own terms so he can drop when he likes as he likes but with LV he’d have to work on their schedule no doubt
