I used to hate it as a kid but it’s honestly a perfect twist that feels extremely real and relevant

Yeah came here to say this.

Not saying it’s objectively the best movie ever made, but it is without a doubt my favorite movie of all time. I’ve seen it probably close to 20 times and I’m still moved every time.

Most underrated movie of all time.

If the twist is what you’re focused on in the Village, you’re missing out on everything that makes that movie so great.

Not too mention roger deakins incredible cinematography that people always seem to sleep on

That shot of Bryce holding her hand out as the red approach is one of my fav shots in cinema history

Yep same here. Always good to find another person who appreciates the beauty of the Village. Much respect brother.

Idk about "his best work in a while", but that first episode he directed was indeed among his most formally exciting stuff. Was not expecting all the extreme framing of characters and the dynamic movement in the scenes.

The first batch of eps overall was pretty solid too, but that first ep was magical

    M. Night Shyamalan’s next movie now has a release date. Universal said Tuesday that it will release the writer-director’s untitled thriller on July 23, 2021.
The pic, details of which are under wraps, stars Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff and Vicky Krieps. On Monday, Deadline scooped that Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Ken Leung have also come aboard.

Shyamalan wrote the script and will direct and produce the pic, which came to light in May.

He had to use his own money to make "Split" happen

S*** paid off handsomely, box office wise

  • That movie he directed with Mark wahlberg is unintentionally hilarious

  • Jun 24, 2020

self financing has really worked amazingly for him

The Visit, Split and Glass were all self financed and all 3 combined have made $600 million in the box office off a combined budget of probably $35 mil

    insane

only dumbasses actually still hate on Shyamalan

this man mortgaged his house to get The Visit made

Very few filmmakers have bet that hard on themselves and taken as big a W as he has. Glass made 200 mil + on a 20 mil budget. Stay mad plebs

Plus he's has the most wholesome, chill personality compared to most other filmmakers. I can think of small few who are as relaxed and just happy to be making films as M. Night seems to be. He really is the modern day Tourneur in life and work
