thats why I had to push back some because I dont ever want it to lead to white savorism of "wow look at these white people speaking out on issues but not us ". Because Macklemore not going lose as many anything if he speaks out. He has less owners. He from what I know didn't come from deep poverty.

Not making excuses for the cowardice of much of the industry at all because out right many of them are cowards. But as someone who directly saw what Lupe was going through and have talked with him about it since it happened . S***s not easy . Behind closed doors is even more than whats reported on.

When a lot of these black people snap its because they cant handle a lot of what they are seeing or dealing with this in this industry. If they speak out on it they are viewed as snitches not whistleblowers.

The industry doesn't want its demons to come to light especially not their artist profiting from calling them or their friends out

    Yeah absolutely agree..

Also what happened with Lupe I know he got a lot of backlash but don't know that much about it

He lost a lot of endorsements after this interview

His entire career changed this day. Yes he had said Obama didn't say s*** on Words I Never Said. But this moment a lot of twitter went at him even calling him anti black for calling out American imperialism. Much of what mirrors what we are seeing again with Kamala now. Atlantic was trying to force him to apologize.

Atlantic were not happy about people protest in front of Atlantic. They took that personally and continued to taunt him for the rest of his time there in so many ways. He happily signed a record F*** Atlantic.

I was at Lasers, Food and liquor 2 and tetsuo and youth release parties lol.

If you watch this interview they try to bait him. "why dont you vote". CBS was fishing for something and they got what they wanted .

People really react poorly to non voting. She does shift interview to his social involvement and him being engaged. Overall the internet went very much "you dont vote you cant complain you a black nerd not supporting Obama . Why do you hate us. Lasers is trash . You signed that deal you deserve that"

final verse of this gives an idea of exactly what went down

    fun guy

He would agree with this, he even folded over winning a Grammy lmao

oh yeah again its all love to him. I am just saying there is a reason many non white people stay quiet politically. When they do speak out they are often gaslighted told they are dumb or lose things from their career

dubai should have been boycotted years n years ago

wild how many people give it passes and dont talk about

they call the west the "downfall" but dubai is literal modern babylon and has so much f***ed s*** beyond almost any other country and especially on a country's own home turf domestically
