There’s nothing left for him in NY other than his children. I think he keeps Anna’s house, fixes cars, maybe even calls Faye. This is all speculation though
I don’t see Faye getting back with Don
It’s even more likely when you remember Waterloo. Don finds out he’s going to be fired so he coaches Peggy on what exactly to do to secure the account for herself so she can keep it because he can’t keep it if he’s fired.
!https://youtu.be/zkpetyKKrEcfor sure. He said he’ll see Peggy soon enough in their last conversation so he’s definitely not disconnecting himself entirely from everyone in the agency business
Do you think his ego wouldn’t allow it?
I think it’s a stretch for don to have created the commercial to match that commune so precisely without being in casting himself. If I recall, there are people who look and are dressed the same from dons experience to the commercial. Peggy also has no clout at McCann so idk that they would even listen to her pitch something for coke when she’s brand new to the company.
I also just don’t know why don would do that. He’s not fired as far as we know, and while his absence is a back look, his reputation is that of a brilliant advertiser so I’m sure McCann would give him another chance. It’s one thing for don to feed work through someone when he’s being put on hiatus by his own company and is dying to get back, but that isn’t the case here to our knowledge.
That theory is convoluted. You guys are thinking maybe he’s done with the industry but still wanted to create the best commercial of all time and not get credit for it? Idk, I think the simple and correct answer is that he created it himself.
That’s why I think in general you guys saying he’s a changed man and will be an enlightened version of himself now doesn’t jive with the ending. The ending tells us he bottled up hippy culture and sold it to America in the form of sugar water. That’s the tragedy of don.

I agree with most of this however advertising isn’t inherently disingenuous media, and i think what he experienced was something he wanted to share and through his talents he did that by making the coke advertisement.
Whether or not he’s sincere about the intention of the positive influence from his ad is up for debate.
I’m also still not completely dismissive of the idea of Don giving Peggy the idea and helping her work on the commercial without the proper credit given, I think there’s a chance that he’s done with that industry and wanted to help someone close to him.
Do you think his ego wouldn’t allow it?
Peggy would never accept the idea anyway
just take it down or erase the scene, its useless anyway
it's not useless smh
S5 thou
"You only live twiceeeee"
S3 is arguably the best episode of the entire series, and hits even harder within the context of the whole season. Almost each line is a callback to a previous moment from another episode. That episode could’ve been the series finale and no one would’ve batted an eyelash.
Was gonna rewatch w/ shorty but I realized it's off Netflix now
coming to amazon in august I think
Buy it GOAT series deserve it
True, but I don't wanna buy any more TV shows cause I don't watch em often tbh
Wouldn't want anything to happen to Roger's silly song+dance in blackface at his second wedding to be jeopardized now would we gtfo.

yoo wtf
streaming days are over
what makes you say that
Peggy won't let her rise to the top be asterisked by outside help.
And upon Don's return to SC&P in season 7, one remark basically sent Peggy spiralling and second-guessing her copy despite having previously beat Don out for Heinz Ketchup. She's not going to let herself go down that path because she still puts his work on a pedestal when the difference between their abilities is negligible
