The genre genuinely just isn't cool anymore. We're growing up with all these artist and there not growing with us. Hip Hop is stuck, and Hip Hop listeners are becoming like hair metal fans because of it.
i feel it's more like dis
Keem - 7/10
Cole - 7.5/10
ASAP - 6/10
Ye - 7.8/10
Isaiah - 6.8/10
Iceman - 7.5/10
GNX - 8/10
I’ll genuinely never listen to any of those albums again and each artist has albums I love. They all feel soulless. Iceman and gnx both 9.5 tho

Ngl...I feel this applies to hip hop media more than the artists.
Cole dropped a big album that was the antithesis of what you just said but the OP still claims that it "came and went."
Hip Hop media as a whole is trash though. Literally just male Wendy Williams types gossiping and focusing on beef and narratives more than the music.
Do need that new stove god album expeditiously. When he was supposed to drop was like the perfect time

Yep, a big part of it is the rap media as well. The Fall Off was quality compared to a lot of other stuff released this year, yet people either focus way too much on the Kendrick situation and find ways too discuss everything but the music. We have the wrong type of nerds in this s*** right now.
In it for all the wrong reasons

I really wish my ears could tolerate a full Youngboy and Lil Baby album more than Ye, Drake, and Wayne's worst efforts.
I can only handle those niggas in doses.

nah i feel you, i used to hate that style of rap for the longest but i understand it now after some real thug cries
Meanwhile real timeless music reclaims the Spotify top spot
Nothing to do with The Boy brother
with a name like op's i would just spin quas's first two joints instrumentals only without a care in the world for whats chopped whats not

Fall Off felt soulless? lol that's the first time I heard that
Zay's album was just chill and kinda depressing, amorphous. didn't have a lot of life to it and I think that was the point of "It's been awful" exhaustion
They beeeeeep beeeeep babeeeeeee s*** just ain’t it for me lol
Joint had thousands in the air when it played at the club, all dark and shii

Not saying it isn't, just doesn't have replay value.
I'm still bumping "656" from Roc like crazy, "Time Heals Everything" by Blu/Exile, & "Black Sheep" by Micky Diamond x Big Ghost.
The underground will always thrive, but the mainstream's stagnant af & the proclaimed "Big 3" (aside from Kendrick) haven't been producing worthwhile albums.
Don's record was decent & Ye surprised us with "Bully" being better than expected, but nothing's stirring hype like it did in the 00's & 10's quality wise.
Cool, Drake dropped 3 albums, but the main one was lackluster & the other 2 shouldn't exist.
Cole's rollout was pretty unique & "Fall-Off" was cool, but it should've been tighter & more memorable. Especially if it is his send off.
It's just hard to get excited for s*** coming outta' the mainstream when the main guys are starting to slow down creatively & the new cats drop ass.
Janice stfu not for the Internet dorks I guess
Real timeless music
Drake fans are such weirdos
