    I don’t even think it’s a white/black issue

I mean if is but it’s more just uneducated whites that just start listening in 2015 when Antidote came out, etc.

They just think hip hop is a fun trend and a zoo, and don’t take the genre seriously

Which is why every celebrity and they’re mom tries to “rap” to get famous.

Rap is so gentrified it doesn’t even matter anymore. It’s cluttered with non talented plants and nepotism. These guys have no passion for the art no more, it’s about placement with right melody and beat

Antidote really did ruin rap music

    F***ed up Travis’ entire trajectory

    Great song tho

well first off the idea that culture shouldn't be flipped is incredibly stupid

what is good about American culture? cause from what I see its a political system that is so far beyond repair, racial tensions that are still peaking, completely unchecked capitalism and etc
what the issue with a generation that is trying to flip that s*** on its head

people are getting famous for dancing because that's what people want to see. the tiktok algorithm is made to promote content that is engaging to the largest audience possible. you act like its just kids driving this. TikTok has almost 1 billion users. Thats not a generation it goes well beyond that

ok. we see this entirely wrong and truly I did not mean to bring this whole discussion into this thread about music, so I do apologize.

I'm NOT talking about these tense things like social issues, I'm talking about POP CULTURE and how it's been ruined. I'm not old at all man, I'm literally only 26 years old.. I'm even on the cusp of the two generations so I completely understand the positivity of that.

in terms of the tik tok argument, man I could not disagree more. TEENAGERS are the biggest users of tik tok. They CREATE the content and consume it. Do you really think adults are going to f***ing dance in front of a camera acting like clowns to some s*** trap music? if they have any sort of dignity, HELL NO. I'm not blaming all of Gen Z for this stupid s***, I'm blaming the teenagers and trend followers who happen to be driving all this bullshit which happens to be affecting music.

If you download tik tok the first thing you see is underage people dancing to trash rap and twerking and stuff. do you not see an issue? that's creepy as f***ing hell man. it's fueled and caters to pedos immediately.

assuming he means white people. is it?

Newsweek in 1991 said gangsta rap had an 80% white audience

Sounddata in 1994 said rap records were owned by 75% white people

even on the low end in 2004 it was estimated that 60% of raps audience were white

its easy to say its because its catering to a white audience but if raps always had a majority white audience why is this a newer phenomenon

Niggas beating they girlfriends not even getting cancelled (no I don’t mean Chris Brown)

Exactly, they only use it so they can rile people to start making people think like the west is dead, Jews run the media etc etc

Couple users on here are notorious for only arguing identity politics

You need to get off that app then

Our generation is become more and more progressive as time goes on

I honestly can’t wait for all the 65+ boomers to die out

tbh i maybe looking at it from a different view cause i never had the app downloaded, but from looking at some of the tiktoks that go viral most of them say some foul ass s***

  • Oct 17, 2020

Melodramatic autotune crooning over trap influenced beats is what he means

There’s always been that since the beginning. Some of y’all favorite rappers have never been “about the art”

at one point, we didn't need gatekeepers to protect the culture. now look...

I mean we did have it in the form of if you were wack then you not getting love from the community and your peers..now it doesnt matter how wack you are as long as you're image can sell
