There are two types of people in the world. (Farmer and the farmhand)

The farmer will tell the farmhand to go out and weed the paddy, and the farmhand will go out and work all day. But when the farmer takes a look at the fields next day, he will still find weeds. He can send the farmhand time and again, but there will still be weeds until the farmer goes and pulls them out himself.

Why?

Because the farmer as the owner, takes great interest in his land. But the farmhand doesn’t as it is not his land.

Because the farmer is the owner, he looks actively for things to do in caring for his land. He does not ask himself why he should have to do things when the other people are not doing for him. He knows what he has to do without anyone telling him. The farmhand, however, does not look for work to do, and asks why he has to do something when the others do not have to do it. If he is not told what to do, he does not do anything. He just takes its easy.

So you see the differences in the mentalities of a farm owner and a farm hand. If we look closely at the decline of the society, it has got a lot to do with mentalities of people. Almost all of them are like the farmhands.

I’m happy to just float by in a sense because I know the true key to life is to not worry too much about external things and just be happy with what isn’t forced on you by society to have to make you happy. I’m happy enough with my family and love and just being kind throughout life
