300 million in recreational pot sales in illlinois so far this year that netted 67 million in tax revenue for the state, make it legal nationwide. Of course you have to make sure the governments use these funds wisely but there’s no reason why we should not have this on the federal election ballot like yesterday.

As a Canadian, it’s absolutely wild to me that there are parts of the US where you can own an assault rifle, yet do time for weed.

How do you plan to regulate it to a point of safety then? Eg pgr, pesticides, general poor growing conditions etc

I guess if people grew their own s*** that wouldnt be a big problem but realistically not many can grow it

That’s like a 22% tax. That’s not ok. Be considerate of the people feeding their families in that industry. Why is it ok for the government to take almost a fourth of their income?

Who else is paying 22% in taxes? How much does amazon pay? Do you know what a marijuana grow license costs in some states?

The second amendment is for protection against government tyranny, not protection against home invaders though it does apply intuitively

uh yeah why wouldn't they be lol?

and they could be done at the community level. we're not even talking about necessarily independent. there could still be businesses, but large corporations are out.
