I’ll give you voccaroos
yeah sure last one was sick but sounded ready for at least a demo track
These dudes ain’t got the energy
That's a good point. That Chikoruss dude we listened to earlier this year definitely has that energy
I have a love and hate relationship with Teezo. On one hand he's like an Internet Age version of Larry Blackmon of CAMEO plus I do like his R&B output, specifically his Rock & Boom s***. However, he's a bit disjointed and his songwriting does need a whole lot of work
Brother
That boy...32 year old man...is ass
Outkast albums legitimately filled the P-Funk void and for decades I had dreams of Andre returning as more of an r&b/funk dude he already proven he can do it
it’s the truth
nigga got booed and s*** thrown at him in the 70/80s when he opened for Rick James
they would FRY him now
James Brown got booed?

Flutes are funky
James Brown got booed?
"Prince and Rick James were turning heads as the new men of funk. Each was a bluntly sexually driven figure who was exciting to follow as he groomed a musical talent about to manifest in its entirety. Yet to fully crossover, both continued to depend upon the same fan base of young black Americans."
"In 1979, James had begun hearing about Prince without giving him a second thought. However, concert promoters regarded them as two of a kind and a guaranteed attraction if billed together. Soon, Prince was slated as James’ opening act for the Fire It Up tour. An inevitable clash was on its way."
"James’ baffling first impression is duly noted in his autobiography The Confessions of Rick James: Memoirs of a Super Freak (2007): “The first time I saw Prince and his band I felt sorry for him. Here’s this little dude wearing hi-heels, playing this New Wave Rock & Roll, not moving or anything on stage, just standing there wearing this trench coat. Then at the end of his set he’d take off his trench coat and he’d be wearing little girl’s bloomers. I just died. The guys in the audience just booed the poor thing to death.”"

So Prince was boo’d
Ehh not sure if i agree with this, feel like there's a quite bit of new male rnb artists. Think it's moreso a matter of mainstream attention

Exactly. We need to stop begging for mainstream attention and embrace subcultures

I've shouted them out near the end of my post. That's another factor too, not a lot of attention put on those guys
Exactly. We need to stop begging for mainstream attention and embrace subcultures
Damn you ageist asf
Man I'm just tired of male R&B singers YOUNGER THAN HIM showing they're more talented singers and songwriters than him but don't get any recognition cause people rather listen to some 32 year old sing about Spider-Man and being b****less

I hear ya, there are a bunch of younger talented artists out there but they're not embraced by the media
hardest working man in show business due to the completion of his skin and still was jam packed with unlimited energy on some DBZ s***.
James Brown was generational. They don't come around often pause
Absolutely true
Exactly. We need to stop begging for mainstream attention and embrace subcultures
true of course but also to be a real James Brown you have to be so f***ing cutting edge that your music blows up across all divides and changes the music landscape across the world and to do that you need hits
just takes 15-20 years of struggle to get there lol
Great thread as always @op i would’ve mentioned Erika de casier but this is a male problem I agree
Yep. It's a bit concerning but we gon make it

That’s over with
Elvis, James, Kraftwerk, etc.
We’re not getting that type of revolutionary s*** anymore
