Seems like he’s making movies for the comic book crowd who already have a base understanding at least of the characters and I guess hoping the general public just rides along? Idk
I get skipping introductions and telling character stories that feel natural. But I also think Superman 2025 bites off more than it can chew in general even if we had introduction movies for every character in the movie so far or had seen them in another property. Doing so in my opinion does an disservice to the overall story and individual characters.

Guy Gardner a bit more of an actual character then see him for sure in Lanterns, man of tomorrow. But eventually some of these characters need damn near their own movie to feel fully fleshed outSeeing more clark and Metropolis wouldnt hurt.
the movie is crowded and some how even with a 2 hour 9 minute runtimes at times feels certain elements are going too slow then suddenly everything is going really fast to a rushed feeling. Where throughout the entire course many characters dont feel real because they are all at all times revolving around Superman existence

The issue is whenever you provide any sort of critique to these elements. Someone says "it was like that in the comics" . Comcis, books , manga are entirely different mediums than when you are a 2 hour movie we have been over this many times. Making something a comic book movie doesnt at times justify some of the writing decisions . There are plenty of movies and tv shows that throw many characters at the viewer that simply have BETTER WRITING AND CHARACTERIZATION

I find it refreshing to just be able to dive into a story without need backstory for every character
not only is it like that with the comics but its like that with regular movies. I didnt need to know the backstory of Odysseus, Agamemnon, the Cyclops, or the Sirens to enjoy Odyssey we got the traditional origin style movie with the mcu for 2 decades and even they started to realize you dont need to do the traditional backstory type of movie all the time to introduce a character as it can be limiting and repetitive.

Since when are supporting characters required to have full arcs in a movie that’s not even about them?
I don’t give a damn that they have superpowers. They don’t deserve more attention and focus than Lois or even Jimmy just because they’re superheroes.

I’m not even speaking on strictly comic book movies. That applies to every genre. A supporting character in Oppenheimer for example doesn’t need an arc to serve a purpose in the story.
Just because a character has superpowers doesn’t mean they’re required to get an arc.

Does the male teacher's husband have an arc in Weapons?
Does Carl have an arc in Project Hail Mary?
Does Cornbread have an arc in Sinners?
Why is it only expected in comic book cinema for every single character with a speaking line to have a narrative arc during the movie? Literally no other genre of film is held to this same standard

and I am not even saying emotional weight necessarily I am saying they dont even feel human being. It feels too movie like at times to just have characters there to say some jokes to make an audience laugh in hopes of making more money or there to deliver or bring a plot point. It helps when characters ARE ACTUALLY WELL WRITTEN . This was all again in response to your idea that you didnt think it was too many characters or what have you. There are plenty of GOOD comic book movies with many characters introduced. World introduced. That they feel like human beings. We mention Spider Man 1, 2, Dark Knight, Begins and countless other films often for this reason. The Batman Part 1 even with my faults with the third act it feels like a living breathing world
When you throw too much at something too fast into a system it doesnt feel like a living breathing world it feels like a product. Same issue arose with BVS seeing a slideshow of the justice league.
