I think his teams gets battered too often for me, but I do really like that he massively values control of the football. A big team must hold more of the ball than the team they are playing***. Itās a trait that no manager bar van Gaal (who was too far gone in it) has embodied at this football club post-SAF.
Would I be enthralled if we got RDZ? Probably not. But I wouldnāt be mad at the appointment
*** obvious exception being when youāre playing a team who are clearly better than you. But we should be comfortably outpossessing 80% of the league

How Real Madrid play in one game a season against the best possession side in world football doesnāt detract how they play the entire rest of the season.

In big away games, sure. Against 85% of the football matches we played we absolutely did.
we were always around 50%. it was never a focus to control the game. at our core its always been counter attacking and smart overloads, not whatever LVG/ETH are trying to do. I get that times are different now, but just saying SAF wasn't about possession control focus at all.

If they managed to sell Rashford I wouldnāt mind bringing in Joao Pedro as a replacement. Wouldāve been a bargain getting him from Watford, but would be a good replacement who can either play off the wing or up top to rotate Holjund.
