They feel disdain for the preference of Dalot over AWB. Dalot had a great season tho imo. Sure he’s not a finished article.

Only in this thread do you get weirdos unhappy about Rashford not wanting to move to one of our biggest rivals, and guys complaining about one of the few players who follows managerial tactical instructions to a tee whilst also simultaneously bemoaning about these players getting managers sacked

You can follow instructions all you want but as a defender if you're weak as piss, like Dalot is, you are not going to follow them very well

If ETH gets sacked it'll be for a number of reasons, and sticking by dog s*** players (that are mostly his own now) will be a big one

    • Rashford has the talent to be worldclass but he has a horrible mentality which has hold him back and made him insufferable when he isn’t in form, i respect him for not wanting to leave to a rival tho
    • Dalot has a good mentality, but he’s not a special player at all (struggles against literally every quality left winger he comes up against). He’s not terrible, but the guy was getting POTY shouts lol. Wouldn’t mind us keeping him, but I’d rather keep AWB as back up if we get a new RB
    • Rashford is literally the type of player that gets managers sacked, if he had shown any effort this season we’d not have finished 8th. Same thing happened Ole’s last season and under Rangnick.

The logic is not that difficult to understand

The hilarity of the Dalot hatred all being predicated on people preferring Aaron ā€œcannot build up unless it’s in a lowblockaā€ Jogbacka

    Dalot getting Hag sacked

Our most durable defender being weak as piss

I don’t even rate Dalot that highly but guys want a solid technically sound, resilient fullback who is adept on both feet to be sold so they can keep a right back who can only slide tackle in one v one isos and sign a guy who played right forward in a 3 back system kills me

  • Jun 7, 2024

F*** I don’t even rate Rashford that highly either and I would understand if the club sold him. But guys getting angry that he has apparently refused to negotiate with Arsenal is rattling my brain

Durable defender how, because he doesn't get injured?

I feel like it’s somewhat justified, he’s not awful by any stretch of the imagination but just like AWB he’s not the finished article.

I don’t really see why he prefers Dalot over AWB.

Put Dalot against wingers like Doku and he gets rinsed, Wan Bissaka has them on lock, we’ve seen it

  • Jun 7, 2024

Rashford is waiting for Paris who have a crater-sized hole in their front 3. It’s so obvious

Zaha floored Dalot this season just gone, same player terrified of AWB

Doku spun Dalot instantly but couldn't get s*** against AWB

Would you rather a full back who wears wrist tape and looks cool or one that can actually put a tackle in? Cosmic concept but I'd prefer a full back who can defend

Defending isn’t just beating pace and power wingers in 1 v 1 iso situations, though.

Backpost defending, tracking back, winning aerial duels from set pieces etc. Wan Bissaka massively struggles with these elements of the game.

Dalot is an above average fullback who excels to a passable standard at near enough every area. Wan Bissaka is elite percentile in certain elements, and then subpar in others. And that’s not even getting into the other side of things with passing, ball progression, and impact in the final third.

I don’t understand why this is so controversial.

That’s why we need a new rightback imo to replace Dalot. Keep AWB for the 6 or 7 games in the season where he can pocket a winger and play the new guy the rest.

But there are many positions I think we need improvement in first so I wouldn’t mind keeping both this summer. Rather get a leftback in first.

Like you said exactly Dalot isn’t a priority with so many other holes to be filled in the squad rn and he has shown evidence of growth so with a proper team system in place this will only improve

Nature of the position there’s nobody that really stands out imo.

Reece James plays 5 games a season but is probably the most complete rb those 5 games.

Trent yeah is a better version of dalot with the ball but worse at defending so idk even if he’s ’better’ overall.

Walker is about to be like 35 years old but has been the best rb in the world these city years imo.

Ben white likely second best has no real weaknesses.

    Porro same quality as dalot.

Carvajal is a better defender but less pace.

Kounde? All I remember is him being s*** against United last year.

Hakimi is pure pace and idk how to judge him.

Cancelo is likely the worse defender on this list.
