Can almost guarantee he goes to Bayern but Hummels leaving as a free agent and we need cbs, would be great business.

Ten Hag exiled Sancho in response. He felt Sancho was an incredible player but that his attitude did not correspond to a winning culture. His patience had been stretched months earlier after his second game in charge, away to Brentford, when Sancho told him United had bought the wrong player because his preference was to play on the left, rather than the right. This guided Ten Hag’s decision to go for a player in that position in the remaining days of the transfer market — ultimately, Antony.

    Amazing insight so far 🤯

i’m a big fan of licha but he isn’t. the reason why is because of the direction premier league football has moved in. it’s moved back to physicality and strength. it’s better to have someone like branthwaite as lcb who’s a better box defender. licha still plays at lb and it eases up on shaw when your schedule is horrendous this szn due to 2 more games before european knockouts

Did you watch the fa cup final? I’m not sure what prem cb id take over him when fit.

All I’m gathering is how stupid ten hag is from this tweet summary. Might be the worst judge of talent of any top club boss.

Let’s be real getting in the new shiny toy is nice but we’re in a position where we need to get backups as well

Hopefully some quality squad players are being considered

    Branthwaite is a backup.

That’s why this makes it a terrible transfer. Has any club ever started two left footed CB’s? The aesthetics of that are 🤮

you could prolly get Tobido and Yoro for around 70/80 million combined who are better and have higher ceilings

Braithwait just feels like a typical glazer signing and I thought we were moving away from that

Rashford hiring a new PR in Caroline McAteer, who works with Ronaldo, Sancho and Varane (plus Mason Mount), caused ripples at United due to challenging relationships between those three players and Ten Hag. Rashford felt he needed an advocate in the media in the face of intense scrutiny and online abuse.

    Found Sancho and Rashford’s ghostwriter

With the departure of Varane (and almost certainly Casemiro now that Hag is staying) - we need some physicality and prowess in the side.

Branthwaite at the very least is an accomplished player in aerial duels. Yoro and Todibo both fall in the bottom 20 percentile for aerials won. (Licha is bottom 1 — short king 🫡)

There is some sense to that signing — let’s not pretend this is just some Brexit paradise move like some are alluding to.

This 'you need a left footed cb on the left' thing is bullshit, some new age woke nonsense

Vidic & Ferdinand both right footed
Bruce & Pallister both right footed etc etc

Even recently Varane & Maguire went on a mad run whenever they were paired together and they're both right footed

One thing is clear with all of these leaks and reports — if ten Hag wants to persist with that one man midfield, aggressive, high press football, we absolutely must sign players who suit this style of football.

The CBs we target have to be mobile, able to sprint quick strides, mop-up quickly. The central midfielders must be able to retain possession in tight areas of the field and counterpress well; wingers need to be able to run up and down the field etc etc.

I don’t want to see another summer of players we sign who vary in playstyles and don’t fit together. There has to be continuity in a style and system

I get having a preferred way to play but f***ing hell it just sounds so limiting in who we could go for

There's almost no real plan B or surprise to it

I agree. I’m saying two left footed CB’s is 🤮 and also there is a premium for a left footer, and we’re going to play him on the right. If he even starts.

    He's very two-footed.

He's just a great CB who's young and has a very high ceiling. Everton fans rave about him. Every game I've seen of his he's been quality. They've had one of the best defences in the league and he's been at the heart of that.

We did sign players who do those things, the main problem was just everyone was injured all the time and Casemiro was just too far off it.

But Antony in fairness is a very hard working winger. Mount is your man for pressing and great at keeping possession in tight areas. Martinez is your quick, ball playing CB.

Get a proper CDM who's capable of covering ground, get mobile CBs agreed, get the team pushing up, allow Onana to actually be more of the playmaking keeper we expected
