To a***ogize, if you're trading a star player for a high draft pick in the NBA or NFL, you better be damn sure about how the pick will develop. It's hard to justify trading a known quantity for an unknown that MIGHT one day be as good as what you already have.

Also for his faults on the pitch he's a hugely positive influence in the dressing room and the club. Like genuinely any good PR over the past year or so has been because of something he's done.

I think this is a smart deal for every party involved on paper — we will never get close to this transfer fee again (if the rumoured £100m is true); Fernandes will be getting life changing money for minimal effort; we need a cash injection to fix the profiles of the squad
