He's shown progress going from 6th to 3rd to 2nd(currently). Also most likely going to finish as the first manager since Fergie to get top 4 back to back. Problem is none of this should be considered as an achievement and it's looking like this is his peak. He doesn't seem to have the ability to compete at top level which is where we should be. Giving him a new contract when he's done so little to convince that he can take us back to the top shows the club lacks ambition and everything is fine as long as top 4 is in the bag.

We've lost 4 semi finals and just missed out on an easy route to the Fa cup final. And then saying we will renew before the season is over even if we end up without the Europa league just shows were the club's head is at. Ole unlike our previous managers has shown he's capable of getting us top 4 more than once but he's also done next to nothing to show he can win us major trophies. This extension would have made more sense after winning the Europa league and got second but clearly we don't care about trophies though, top 4 is ok.

What makes it even worse is the style of football United are playing is complete s***. When the board of directors or any higher ups go and watch a United game and they actually see how we play and they determine that’s good enough to warrant a new deal?! If finishing top 4, but dropping out of all the competitions and being miles behind with the team up top rewards you with a new contract, then the standards at United has fallen tremendously.

Why tf are we already extending Ole’s contract. Just wait a couple months till end of the season, it isn’t that we have to be afraid that he’s going by himself
